Marnie is nervous about starting at the Mermaid School. She has both her mother’s and her aunt’s reputations behind her. Her mother was a star student who always did her homework, but her aunt was a trouble maker. What I LIked Most: I think this is a fun book for several reasons. Those a bit concerned about the first day of school should be comforted through learning by osmosis. They might not even realize that underwater school is helping them relax and enjoy the thoughts of a new experience.

Marnie is upset that the teachers seem to think that she is going to behave in a certain way because of her aunt and that people don’t like her and she doesn’t know why.
