About this deal

There are some really great titles here but this list highlights how comparitively few racing titles there are on Switch, especially the more fun/arcade style racers in general these days compared to the higher end sims so big-boy hardware can show off its graphics by proving how grown-up and serious it is. GRID Autosport was originally released on the Xbox 360 and PS3, and this Nintendo Switch port is one of the best racing titles that the handheld console has to offer. Out of all of the games on this list, Mantis Burn Racing is one of my favorites. It’s a joy to play through, and matches the console perfectly too. Need for Drive” is a thrilling racing game that will put your driving skills to the test. In this game, you will have access to various game modes, including drag, sprint, time trial, and racing. Each mode will challenge you in different ways, and you will need to use all of your driving abilities to come out on top.

Not a single WRC game what kind of list is this? If it's still being made sure but what...... Some areas aren't covered at least 1 rally (Mantis Burn I guess but any top down racer could be here really)/1 watersports games need to be here at least. I still don't understand why EA haven't released the Burnout Paradise remaster they did on XB1 and PS4. I would've bought that in an instant. I wish the folks behind the Gear.Club series (which are mostly, if I'm not mistaken, the people from Eden games who were responsible for the Test Drive unlimited series) would put out another open-world racer like TDU (even if the car handling was not the best in those games). The game itself plays very well, with smooth, intuitive controls and a pleasantly modern take on retro aesthetics. It fits the Nintendo Switch console incredibly well. Online multiplayer shines with Mantis Burn Racing. You can race against CPU opponents if you’re struggling to find competitors, disable cross-platform play, fully customize your game and compete for spots on the online leaderboard, too.

I’ve included a few retro racer games in this article, and that’s simply because they make up the largest majority of the best racing games on the Nintendo Switch. Cruis’n Blast is no exception. Sadly when it comes to real racing games, racing sims in other words, our selection is quite limited. MXGP3 was a passable motocross sim but now that Monster Energy Supercross 2 is out that is undoubtedly the best motocross game on the Switch and probably the best racer overall, it is an impressive port, better than any other that we have received so far. MotoGP 18 is a good choice for a road racer, it does a good job of capturing the sport and gives you a good feel for riding motorcycles. Slipstream is a fun, retro racer with decent music, 80s graphics and a lot of content to keep you occupied. It’s worth adding to your library today. Horizon Chase Turbo Hot Wheels Unleashed is an approachable yet exciting racing game that’s ideal for gamers of all experience levels. The aim of completing all these races is to earn coins and gears. Coins can be spent on new cars, while the gears can be used to upgrade vehicles you already have in your collection. Given that half the fun of real life Hot Wheels is collecting them, it should be no surprise that it’s also the most enjoyable part of the game, even if it gets a bit loot-boxy. Accessibility Features GameplayOld cars make for amazing material for a fantastic makeover. In Car Detailing Simulator, you can buy plenty of old car models just waiting for someone to give them a new life. After all is said and done, don't forget to sell your ‘babies’ at the right price – the classic will always find a buyer.

Hot Wheels Unleashed is a great addition to any Nintendo Switch library. The difficulty is easy to change and scale, making it accessible and approachable. It looks great, handles well and has a decent amount of content to play through, too. GRID AutosportNeed for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered includes all of the DLC and a single-player experience that's surprisingly deep. Crossing the finish line Multiplayer requires one compatible controller per player. Additional controllers (sold separately) may be required.

Team Sonic Racing has no performance issues to note, and looks decent on the Nintendo Switch too. It runs at 30FPS, has charming graphics and fun, upbeat music as well. I'd never heard of and glad to of Mantis Burn and Next Penelope but as not into top down racers they do deserve to be on the list they seem pretty good even if not for me. Each event that you play through has a number of mini challenges to attempt, aside from trying to place in the top 3. These could include anything from smashing through barriers to finishing the race in a specific time.

A record-breaking 48 courses to race on!

What's better than getting one game about speed? Two, obviously. With this bundle, players can experience some retro-style sidescrolling Sonic games in Sonic Mania as they speed through each level either solo or with a friend. Then of course there's Team Sonic Racing.
