Layer different shades of ABH brow products to create natural-looking, multidimensional brows. First, fill in the brow with a lighter shade of Brow Powder Duo using Brush 7B. Then, detail the brow with tiny hairlike strokes using a deeper shade Brow Wiz®. The last product that we didn’t love is the Pro Pencil, a concealer pencil that can be used to highlight your brow bone, clean up the outline of your brows after filling them in or brighten dark circles. All of the testers found it difficult to blend, and the shade range (it comes in three colors) did not go deep enough for darker skin tones. We concluded that if you want to highlight your brow look, it’s better to reach for an actual highlighter, and if you want to conceal, a cream concealer will give a more natural effect. Start by outlining the under arch of the brow, moving toward the tail end, then blend using the spoolie. Outline the upper arch and blend using the spoolie. Begin by exposing only a small amount of product (about 2–3 millimeters); this allows for maximum control of the pencil and prevents overextension when applying the product. Remember all products are highly pigmented, so little pressure is required. For a prestige beauty brand, Anastasia’s products are user-friendly and fairly priced, especially considering it invented the luxury brow category. Brow Freeze is one of Soare’s own personal favorites, and she uses it as the first step of her brow routine, before filling them in with any color. Starting at the base of the front of the brow, press the tip down and pull up in the direction of hair’s natural growth. Use this technique throughout areas of sparseness. Continuously blend throughout application. Start by applying Brow Pen in the areas you are more sparse—working in the direction of hair growth. Lightly etch in any areas you want added detail and definition. Softly blend as you go using a spoolie brush.

Furthermore, we had mixed feelings about the two-tone pigment. While it includes a lighter and darker shade so you can create dimension for your brow, none of the testers felt confident enough with the product to try the ombré effect.

When preparing to fill in the brow, use Brow Wiz® in a shade lighter than your natural hair color to map out the three points of the Golden Ratio® along the brow to serve as guide points. With a collection as robust as Anastasia’s, some products are bound to outperform others. We found that the brand’s brow gels and shaping products were the stars, while the filler products, such as the Brow Pen and Brow Powder Duo, fell short. Purpose: Ideal for anyone with medium to full brows that doesn’t require a Fill step and/or a makeup minimalist. Use two shades together to create a natural, ombre effect. Apply a lighter shade in the front of the brow, and a deeper shade from arch to tail. Use this technique on sparse areas throughout the brow and blend using the spoolie for a natural finish.
