About this deal

G. Leonard and Sam Sedgman in the second mystery adventure in the major Adventures on Trains series.

This was perfect bedtime reading, although both would have been capable of reading to themselves we chose to snuggle up together. I have even talked the head into a little revamp of the library so that we can display them properly!

Board the California Comet and help Harrison Beck to solve another heart-stopping mystery in the second Adventures on Trains story, Kidnap on the California Comet, from bestselling authors M. My daughter and I read this book together as a bedtime story, having previously read the first mystery in the series, The Highland Falcon Thief. A sign of a good book for me is one that he will go back and re read again and again and this is on that list. Sadly it launched on the first day back to school so I held it back knowing it would mean a late night for him while he read, I wasn’t wrong! He grew up with a railway line at the bottom of his garden and has been fascinated by trains ever since.

I was at my last school for 4 years and we had ********* book fairs every term – and every term, I was disappointed by the narrow range of books.Elisa Paganelli was born in Modena (Italy) in 1985, and since childhood books have been her bestfriends. When Uncle Nat arrives and asks if Harrison Beck wants to go on another train adventure it sounds like the perfect trip, he'll get to fly to America and then go on an amazing train with his uncle he loves spending time with but after the experience on Highland Falcon he knows a train journey isn't likely to be as simple as getting his ticket and just enjoying the ride. The Adventures on Trains series is published in the UK and US by Macmillan, and is licensed to more than ten countries around the world, including the Czech Republic, France, Greece, Italy, Japan, Latin America, the Netherlands, Romania, Russia, Spain and Sweden. This is a unique series of books which allows you to travel the world whilst you have to stay at home and is really an Agatha Christie series for the 8-12 age range. This experience has been fantastic primarily for the children, the school and also for me (professionally).
