About this deal

Note: This book is formally a stand-alone novel but the heroine’s best friends have their own books too and in fact, hers is the last (third). There were ups and downs and a TON of self doubt (sometimes too much for my taste) but love bought it all together in the end. The emotional bond I developed with these characters would have been impossible had this not been perfectly plotted and written.

Listen, I love my fair share of taboo romances and HUGE age gaps romances but I don't need to be inside this guy's head while he is clearly attracted to her because she looks and acts like a child. Behind his charming, smooth-talking, sexy exterior, Theo was hiding years of pain and damage so deep that it had left emotional scars on his soul.

It was FUN, SEXY, and LIGHT-HEARTED, but also had seriously DEEP FEELS that really balanced the story out beautifully. If you’ve read Man Candy and After We Fall (or any other MH work, really), you’ll definitely enjoy this one.

I liked the fact that she’s not a doormat and the fact that she knows what she wants and what’s best for her. I wanted to smack Theo in the head sometimes, especially in the middle, but there’s something about him that makes me want to cheer him on.There doesn’t have to be Prince Charming or a shiny white castle but two ordinary people who have the way of making you feel special and happy. They have an incredible connection, off the charts sexual chemistry and just the right amount of obstacles to balance the sweet with a little heartache! Melanie Harlow has expanded her writing that started out as more hot and humorous to incorporate swoon and soul in spades. Yet what I love the most about her books is the possibility of actual people would have to juggle with these situations.

que química meu Deus, acho que foi mais quente que o livro 2, e olha que lá pegou fogo, aqui neste houve um incêndio de grandes proporções rsrsrs. Theo is a closed off drifter, getting antsy if he stays in one place too long that refuses to count on anyone else. There were a few times when I wanted to smack him in the head, but he figured out his sh*t pretty quickly, which I obviously liked. It's a fake-dating book, that is not really a fair comment to make, so let me give you a couple of fair comments. But for right now all she needs is a date to avoid the dreaded singles table at her friend’s wedding. He is not a relationship kind of guy yet he can't forget the sassy, kind and sweet Claire who is everything he wants but can't have. I don't know why, but things started getting boring and I didn't see enough depth and chemistry in their relationship as much as I'd hoped. Because that is what any other woman would do, god forbid women are seen or written as anything more than a man holder.

Although I hated the impact it had on Claire, it was necessary to make the story as poignant is it is. Theo and Claire had fantastic chemistry and for those of you looking for a steamy romance, theirs certainly delivers!

I don't care that he went to prison, I care that I am reading a book about a 29 year old lying her ass off over something absurdly shallow like she's the main character in parent trap. This girl wanted to go to a wedding, she didn't want to sit at the single's table so she hired a male companion online. And so when her co-worker asks her if she’s coming alone (again), she lies and tells her she’s finally bringing a plus one; this time in the form of a Ryan Gosling look-a-like who’s a rock star in bed. But Theo has such a distorted view of love, relationships, even friendships, that it's not an easy ride.
