About this deal

This includes, without limitation, direct loss, loss of business or profits (whether or not the loss of such profits was foreseeable, arose in the normal course of things or you have advised this Company of the possibility of such potential loss), damage caused to your computer, computer software, systems and programs and the data thereon or any other direct or indirect, consequential and incidental damages. Before checking out this SDR 1080p presentation I’d just finished the 4K disc so admittedly that’s still in my brain so I’m trying not to let that color my view of this transfer. I’ll hold off on this disk until the inevitable triple box set with Halloween Ends is released this year. I did not read any professional reviews before hand but I did sneak a peak and they were pretty dismal. Surround steering and positioning of spot effects around the full Atmos array is an absolute blast – there’s plenty of living flames, creaking floorboards or footsteps on car roofs going on in the overheads, as well as a cavalcade of surround effects that range from the atmospheric to the cacophonous (the crowd marauding their way through Haddonfield Memorial is a riot of all-encompassing sound – feet, voices, the sharp tinkles as medical equipment hits the floor, you name it, it’s in this mix).

My audio/video ratings are based upon a comparative made against other high definition media/blu-ray disc. Michael manages to free himself from Laurie Strode's (Jamie Lee Curtis) trap to resume his ritual bloodbath. Well the steelbook does look beautiful, thought sadly still haven’t received it in the old zaavi tradition still hasn’t been dispatched should really say dispatched when we can be bothered to send it rather than dispatched within 24 hours. Not to leave anything behind - H alloween Kills comes packed with a nice assortment of bonus features. That has an impact on the plot too, most notably in the sequences where the townsfolk attack Michael – Green doesn’t have a convincing solution for why they don’t just cut his head off or shoot him repeatedly in the head, so instead they just resort to giving him a good kicking and hope that does the trick.Michael Myers, once again , feels like an unbridled force of nature; Halloween Kills knows what you're here for . To that end, the film includes actors who appeared as children in the original film and creates some new backstory / mythology involving Thomas Mann and Jim Cummings as a pair of cops making poor decisions on Halloween, 1978. The Kill Count segment is a fun bit - but it also leaves little doubt about the fate of a couple of key cast members so spoilers be warned there.

Atmos core) soundtrack has excellent dynamic range, detail rich clarity and makes ample use of the surround platform to drive the film’s elements.Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) left masked monster Michael Myers caged and burning in Laurie's basement but when Michael manages to free himself from the trap, his ritual bloodbath resumes.

And with all the gimmicky surround sound usage (which admittedly, I adore), it's this near perfect balance across the entire film of that meaty bass and everything else, without it ever getting swamped or drowned out that is the real achievement of the sound mixers. Bonus features are all solid - the featurettes may be a bit “talking head” but the commentary is excellent and some of the behind-the-scenes stuff is really cool. Discrete rear channel activity isn’t extensive however the elements of fright/action provide an enriching level of immersion. Extras: Standout bonuses are the choice of two versions of the movie (the 105-minute Theatrical Version and 109-minute Extended Cut), plus a lively commentary track featuring director David Gordon Green and stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Judi Greer. When Michael emerges from Laurie’s burning house - that’s some great blend of shadows and light with the bright oranges and yellows bathing the scene. Meanwhile, masked killer Michael Myers (Nick Castle and James Jude Courtney) somehow escapes being burned to death in Laurie’s cellar and starts stabbing and slashing his way towards the hospital. The detection of subtle background sounds, off camera cues and spatial dimension within the room’s acoustic environment is notable.

The best of the featurettes is the 1978 Transformations segment showing how they recreated the Myers house, the costumes, the mask, and hiring the construction manager and some makeup to bring Dr.And so, it all leaves us with an overall feeling of this being somewhat of a missed opportunity to build on the solid work that Halloween '18 did: a solid theme and premise, with a great Michael and brutal set of fan-pleasing kills, but with far too much narrative redundancy and a sense of a film waiting for its next part rather than being a satisfactory entry in its own right.
