Even if a children has never eaten or had chocolate cake before, they still have a favorite food that they cannot resist! It seems like a match made in heaven as we learn what it was like for Michael as a little boy with a sweet tooth. a sound I can't even be bothered to spell* scrunched all together in the crumbly bits and the sticky bits and it’s all going in there, yeah, belly-belly-belly.

Michael Rosen’s stories are often inspired by his own life, and anyone reading Chocolate Cake definitely gets the impression that he might be drawing from his own childhood in this tale of the irresistible cake. Kevin’s first book, Mr Peek and the Misunderstanding at the Zoo (Templar Publishing), which unveiled Mr Peek, his eccentric and amazing new character, won the Bologna Ragazzi Award Opera Prima Award in 2009.While the ganache is still fresh, arrange the Maltesers around the top surface of the cake and lightly dust the top with icing sugar.

Though I am aware I’m not discussing the book, but instead the video clip, I just think there is so much rich literature to be relished and learned by children. This can be worked into the design technology curriculum where children not only need to bake cakes, but also design the packaging, use their maths knowledge to weigh ingredients etc. When you are reading a highly popular series that is also old it's hard not to see spoilers so out of my deductions from living on bookstagram I have made a few predictions but time will tell as I continue the series with Heir of Fire.
