I love John Hughes 80s movies and as soon as I saw the words Rhythm of Life from Uncle Buck and Holiday Road from National Lampoon's Vacation I knew I had to have this album. I understand these songs were from John's movies, but I have played this side the least, no offense to the late great Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles, or the other great artist on these records.

Curated by John Hughes’ music supervisor Tarquin Gotch, this 2LP vinyl release includes 25 tracks from the movies Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Pretty In Pink, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Some Kind Of Wonderful, Planes, Trains And Automobiles, She’s Having A Baby.

John said he only made movies so he could choose what music to put in them, so as his success at the Box Office grew, and thus his power with the studios, the number of tracks in his films, by up-and-coming UK bands, steadily grew.
