In the gripping third instalment of the William Warwick series, Detective Inspector Warwick must go undercover and expose corruption at the heart of the Metropolitan Police Force. It’s hard for most people to imagine knowing someone so famous, but after working together over many years, it’s not so different. He is a very by the book’s kind of person (with the exception of maybe one incident that happened prior to the current action) and he hates any hint of corruption within the force so you can see how it goes against the grain for him to blend in with the Protection Command to get the evidence he needs. The ongoing saga of Miles Faulkner and his counsel, Mr Booth-Watson appears to be going through a transition phase with the drama apparently building up for a larger showdown, presumably in the next book. I know I didn’t realise that this is part of a series, thankfully I realised it quite late in the book and I don’t think it affected me.He has been married to Dame Mary Archer, Chair of the Science Museum Group, for 55 year, and they have two sons, two granddaughters and three grandsons. Taking advantage of the British, he chose to permit groups to say the North Sea oil drilling rights with little cash down. Only days before Britain declares war on Germany, Harry Clifton, hoping to escape the consequences of long-buried family secrets, and forced to accept that his desire to marry Emma Barrington will never be fulfilled, has joined the Merchant Navy.
