Each episode is set in a different corner of the globe as Inspector Duval(Charles Korvin) of Interpol, based in Paris, is drafted in to solve the crimes that other local police forces cannot. Mr George' is a clever firebug blackmailing a London insurance company by burning down a Hamburg warehouse.

Curiously actor Peter Elliott provides the commentary for the race on the radio, while also reading out messages to police cars!When the police swoop, they only find in the washroom Bill, "someone did come in," he admits, but points to the open window. A forger thinks he has the perfect plan when he substitutes his forgeries for payroll cash in safes in Barcelona and Zurich but Duval links the safes to a London company and an employee who has left with ill health. A girl posing as well known celebrities to steal from jewellers all over Europe fools Duval twice, to the amusement of Mornay, when he thinks he is about to arrest her. When an airliner is hijacked and landed on a disused wartime airstrip in Burma and its cargo of platinum stolen, the trail leads to Hong Kong and a mysterious Chinese man with many identities who seems to have been killed fleeing the police.We watch him and his blackmailed partner, "undesirable" Frederick Pimm, aka Ferenc Pimescu, hiding the paintings on a barge moored at Chelsea Reach. To see if Vic has the same tattoo on his arm as the missing crook, Duval clumsily spills his drink on Vic's arm. Inspector Duval is soon on to "evil genius" Karl Haussmann (Donald Pleasence, a typical role, though he is given little chance to shine). In the haul are a Van Gogh, 3 Rembrandts, a Renoir and a Lautrec -the thieves knew which ones to nick! Immediately after robbing a bank in Israel, David Baker and his girlfriend Diane fly to Spain, from where they know they cannot be extradited.

Images Donate icon An illustration of a heart shape Donate Ellipses icon An illustration of text ellipses.I saw this series when it first went out on TV years ago as I brought this boxed set for nostalgia reasons and I am not disappointed plus the amount stars, then starting out in 'the business' that feature in small roles is amazing as you play 'spot the future star' type of thing but overall, a very entertaining series that does not require you to have a degree in drama to understand it unlike some of the stuff made nowadays.
