About this deal

It seems that the mysterious attackers might have another target in their sights, and if the Camel Club is unable to stop them, the results would be nothing less than catastrophic. Quote: “Every time I walk with Alex I’m reminded both how lucky I am to have friends like him and also how unworthy I am to have friends like him.

Throw in a handful of nifty doube-crosses and misdirections, and you've got the perfect thriller for a weekend of reading. The fifth part of the Camel Club series, Hell’s Corner is a good, engaging read, but one that was just short of four stars. A fitting closure to the series even though it went in a roundabout way, uncovering conspiracies and betrayals, facing fears and foes, and above all a story that brings family to the one who has been all alone his life. It was so amazing, fast paced, and wowing, and it was a really satisfying end, even though I sincerely wish that there were more books with Mary, or that she got her own series. In the aftermath, British MI-5 agent Mary Chapman, an experienced, lethal operative with an agenda of her own, is sent to assist and coordinate with American authorities to uncover who was responsible for the bombing.Oliver Stone’s real name, John Carr, is supposed to be a deep secret, but everyone and his uncle seems to know his real identity. A lifelong Virginian, David is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Virginia School of Law. Chapman, isn't who you think she is either, and that become clear at the very end of the book, but she does find a way to save Carr/Stone's life as the only person he believes he can trust. Without giving the story-line away, I found this was the book that finally stretched plausibility beyond its breaking-point: the main plot device is 'James Bond' like (and speaking as a chemist, scientific nonsense); the final action sequence is rather 'deja vu'; and, as this was the last in the series I was expecting some closure on the career of John Carr (one way or another), whereas its actually left entirely open. While everyone is running to the right the masterminds are veering to the left and keeping everyone off balance including all the alphabet agencies in Washington, DC.

Stone is brought in by the NIC and the White House to participate in the investigation of the bombing. However the edition that arrived was not the same as pictured therefore unsuitable for our collection. Was there no one in the CIA, NSA, or FBI who would be better prepared to do this than an aging assassin? The plot was great, the characters were fabulous, and the ending was totally unexpected and shocked me so much that I couldn’t believe it.

C., setting is rendered with familiarity and the writing doesn't get in the way of the fast-moving plot. Considering this is the last of the books in this series, we see a lot of past of the characters mentioned at almost every other turn of the page. His novels have been translated into more than 45 languages and sold in more than 80 countries; over 110 million copies are in print worldwide. The members are - Oliver Stone, Reuben Rhodes, Caleb Shaw, Milton Farb(deceased), Alex Ford, Annabelle Conroy, Harry Finn and Joe Knox(unofficial). As you remember, Milton Farb, died in Divine Justice and because of that Stone/Carr has decided NOT to allow any member of the Camel Club to be hurt on his account ever again.

Can the Camel Club protect two of its members at once, or will they be stretched too thin to save them? I loved the first 3 in the Camel Club series, and I love the Oliver Stone / John Carr character, but this one was a big letdown.
