I mean, I remember very well the time when this perfume was launched and the ad by Lynch but the fragrance itself could have been more special and different at that time (2007-8) the 70s reference was sort of original and the scent was something bold and very very strong, almost marketed as an exclusively night time perfume I would say but. to 5 minutes after application the tobbaco start to settle and start to smell sweet and musky without smelling wet. This is not the case with Gucci, as that “wet plant” quality seems to have been noticeably curbed, the patch here feels lush and opulent. Gucci by Gucci is everything the modern woman strives to be: she is strong, decisive and powerful, and yet she retains her feminine elegance and sophistication. The scent doesn't come off cheap in any way; or just thrown together; nor does it possess any type of quality to it that might make a man feel ashamed wearing it.

comparing the two 'characters' I stick with the idea of Chloè with a feminine woman who is carefree, romantic but strong at the same. It starts of very boozy like you have been getting nice and intoxicated and ready to loose your inhibitions.The tiare and guava makes it just a hint tropical, the patchouli and musk make it exotic, and the honey smooths it out. I haven't experienced longevity this bad with anything else except TF's Cafe Rose (how weird, right? It is very long lasting lasts for days rly, the silage fills the whole apartment only from one spray.

Do keep in mind that it smell a little sweeter on clothes (just a tiny bit from the tobacco) and last a little longer on clothes too (about 6-7 hours, but a light scent).

Sometimes I wonder whether it's because they just can't anymore - whether some crucial constituent has ceased to be available, and they would rather scrap it than be putting-out an inferior generation of it. The bottle is nice; Gucci is the master of clunky, heavy glass bottles and this one doesn't disappoint. I love love love this perfume, its addictive, its my all time favorite go to perfume every day - I never tire of it - its sweet yet dark maybe even slightly spicy, its intriguing and alluring. Longevity is poor however, even if you purchase the original version from the time it has been initially released.

The dry down of this fragrance on bare uncovered skin is where everything falls apart - I never get the beautiful, UNIQUE dry down that I get when I have fabric covering my skin. This smells like the bottle looks, maybe a bit off in my bottle cause it s old, but a warm sweet sexy not green not too dusty pachouli with white flower. I really like this fragrance, but my breath gets taken away and a massive migraine is induced if I spray on more than 1 spray. It's at the mid notes that you get a craving for more of what this scent has to bring, but it is also at this point that the scent just seems to restrain itself.

Gucci by Gucci must be placed alongside the other sacred monsters of the house, Pour Homme, Envy and Rush. The beautiful glass and magnetic cap, the subtle nuances of the lettering and minimalist design emanate class and refinement of days gone by. I feel a very intense sharpness and sourness at the opening, the perfume turns into a beautiful and sophisticated honey scent as it stays on the skin. What both utterly confounds me and ticks me off about the poor performance is that if you take a look at the note breakdown, this fragrance is primarily made up of otherwise STRONG scents (Tobacco, Cypress, Violet, Patchouli, Leather, Resin)? One thing I can say about this though is that it sets my déja-vu haywire - some 'fumes do that - some more than others: and this one does it to me a very great deal .
