Europe's busiest forums, with independent news and expert reviews, for TVs, Home Cinema, Hi-Fi, Movies, Gaming, Tech and more. For those not familiar with the details regarding Ultra HD Blu-ray you can refer to my article that includes some pertinent data on the subject. Ultimately, Everything Everywhere All at Once is about the difficulty in holding onto the family unit despite the disjointed nature of modern life, and that’s something to which everyone can relate. Like the Blu-ray rendering, the darkened highlights in low-lit environs, can be hit or miss but it most respects, have appreciable dimension and resolvable detail. Updated daily and in real-time, we track all high-def disc news and release dates, and review the latest disc titles.

I love the nature of the story’s plot which makes this the kind of film that you don’t just walk in the middle of and pick up for the first time.Everything Everywhere All at Once comes to Blu-ray Disc from Lionsgate Home Entertainment featuring 1080p AVC encoded video and lossless Dolby Atmos/TrueHD 7. Evelyn has been so preoccupied that she has been living completely blind to an unhappy marriage with the always upbeat and optimistic Waymond (Ke Huy Quan of The Goonies and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom fame). It’s a mind-bending trip through the multiverse that mixes comedy, science fiction, fantasy, martial arts, and family drama into a chaotic but still internally consistent whole. At the same time, her daughter Joy (Stephanie Hsu) is at the breaking point waiting for mother to accept her and her girlfriend Becky (Tallie Medel).

As Raymond slings a fanny pack around like nunchucks, everything stays forward-focused, surround use barely noted. For the week that ended on July 9th, Lionsgate Home Entertainment's Everything Everywhere All at Once topped the Blu-ray-only chart in its debut, knocking Warner Bros. audit gets "interrupted" by Evelyn's growing awareness that other realities are beginning to intrude on hers. Although the bonus material could be a bit meatier, the overall UHD package is nonetheless highly-recommended and belongs in every 4K library.I didn't find the movie too dark either, but I'm watching it on a 122" diagonal 16:9 Cima Neve screen, with a JVC RS4500 projector, using a Lumagen Radiance Pro doing the HDR dynamic tone mapping ( no Dolby Vision ), in a pitch black home theater. Some might be due to different distributers in the UK for the film , but that didn't seem to stop BR. However for a single film I'm not sure if the cost of postage will make it more expensive than the US version, I combined mine with other films as the postage was a flat rate. At startup, the disc goes straight to a static menu screen with the usual options and music playing in the background. And somehow, amid all the visually stunning chaos, the filmmakers reveal a tender, moving portrait of modernity.

I see I wrote the specials made me appreciate it more but honestly I don't remember what that was about now lol. I've had to import these three, Touch of Evil and Hard Target, all KL releases because they won't sell them overseas themselves. It was a heck of a time to discover that she could tap into the abilities of countless variant versions of herself across reality-and that she would need them to conquer a threat poised to collapse it all. Impressively, Everything Everywhere All at Once wasn’t just the Little Engine That Could, it also became the Little Engine That Did. First off, this is a mind bending, intelligently crafted sci-fi action comedy with a formulaic yet, refreshing narrative approach that boldly explores themes surrounding family, metaphysics and how we as human beings can sometimes take life for granted.Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan deliver one of the best surprises of the year with their bizarrely entertaining and ingeniously heartfelt Everything Everywhere All at Once, starring Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ke Huy Quan, Stephanie Hsu and James Hong. If asked what, exactly, Everything Everywhere All at Once is about, it’s a need to find solace in a chaotic existence. As for the disc, the image and sound is good but the 4k is only marginally better and might be too dark.

Now, having said all of that, Everything Everywhere All at Once is chaotic and most assuredly takes the road less traveled which could prove frustrating. All disc reviews at High-Def Digest are completed using the best consumer HD home theater products currently on the market. If anything, the script needed rolled back a few pages to scale back the relentless deluge of exposition and character development. Being a character-driven feature, every conversation and line of dialogue always takes top priority, coming in loud and clear even during the loudest, most outrageous segments. During the lengthy development process, Sony and Marvel studios ended up beating them to the punch with films like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Phase Four in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but in a way, that just laid the groundwork that made the madness of Everything Everywhere All at Once easier for audiences to understand and accept. The decline of optical discs perhaps or the lower spending power in the UK meaning people stayed with DVD. The Outtakes aren’t necessarily that amusing, but they do show how much fun that everyone was having on set, and just what kinds of things that the Daniels were doing off-camera to motivate the actors.
