About this deal

I used more velcro strips aroound the top wetsuit portion and the bottom leather legging portion to attach them and also have it act as an extra connector for the wetsuit and leggings. While the design may have changed over the years, there are few Doctor Who villains that strike more fear than the Cybermen! The head is constructed of fibreglass with thick foil around the eyes and mouth which are backed from the inside with mesh, the ear pieces are clear flexible tubing with solid perspex pieces at the top and bottom to form the curved shape and the interior of the helmet features a black elastic loop which was used to hold the torch in place. I refolded any loose hanging metal underneath- (pretty easily moldable aluminum here) and then used duct tape on the underside to smooth out those rough edges to avoid chaffing. Instead, I traced the edges of the tape with Sharpie, removed the flashing tape and then painted in the areas with black oil paints.

Held in place with epoxy, the opening at the center allows for a bright white LED on the end of a long wire to be pushed through from the inside of the mask.My guess is that it's another plastic piece modified from an older costume in the wardrobe or custom made.

We also re-outfitted the chest and the shirt piece with hooks and loops to more easily (yet securely) fasten and unfasten the Chest Unit to the suit. But it has to be a vintage style with the famrer john style pants, and a jacket with center closure (not to mention virtually no brand name or design markings on it! I thought I'd need some glue to help hold it on but to be honest the plastic was pretty strong and it held fine on it's own.Unfortunately under the glare of the studio lights this tape did not always hold the earpieces of the headgear in place.

It must be in the original condition and with all the original manufacturer packaging and accessories included where applicable. An original 1960s Cyberman chest unit used in the production of the long running BBC television series Doctor Who, during the reign of Patrick Troughton as The Doctor. I knew from the beginning that I was going to have to make a significant change to the mask, because the originals were in two parts that would be fastened together around your head. I thought about a few different ways to actually wear this console, but the "overalls" method seemed to be the easiest. Like the joint coils, these need to be applied first before measuring out the tubing to help know what's going where.I bet I originally didn't copy them to here because the chest units were from Invasion, but on reflection saving the images for posterity seamed like a good idea. The centre section is made from wire over a base of hardboard with wooden doweling to simulate the tubing connections and a metal tube running through the body to house the gun, the unit also features a strong canvas strap to attach to the actor. This Cyberman Controller helmet was used in the 1967 serial The Tomb of the Cybermen starring Patrick Troughton as The Doctor and represents one of two helmets made the story which introduces the Cyberman Controller portrayed by Michael Kilgarriff.
