Not even reaching 100 pages, and I was already loving the characters, the funny banter, and the overall vibe of the book which was lighthearted and fun. The female narrator gives a solid performance, but it's the male narrator who really takes things up a notch.The drama was a lot and it was mostly OW drama—which I hate—and I didn’t really see the point of it. He inches closer and closer until he’s leaning halfway over my body, gripping my hand so tight it hurts. and there were a lot of steamy moments but I think the author balanced all of it well with the sweeter and more romantic and swoony moments. Also, I can’t for the life of me wrap my head around if you’ve already hired 2 voice actors to play two characters, why they wouldn’t use their voices for their lines when it’s told from the other’s POV.

But when his dog runs into Rosie Wells, a beautiful woman with a blush as pink as her hair, she doesn’t seem to have a clue who he is, and Adam seizes the opportunity as a chance to finally be himself. If that’s what it was, then that needs to be explained, because my brain cannot picture a way that “holding her down by the throat” isn’t the beginning of a horror snuff book. He’s arrogance dressed in expensive clothing, smooth, corded muscles, and a charming smile, and quite possibly the face of chlamydia; I can’t be certain. I’d also add that being a high profile sport but not as popular as other major sports may make it easier to fictionalize – readers might not be as familiar with it, so there’s more room for creative license without choosing a more niche sport that doesn’t appeal to as many readers.I loved how he was so patient with her and gave her space and time before she was ready to enter a relationship with him.
