I have to say it was brilliant to reach the end and discover the recipes there in detail for anyone wishing to try them out.

And gradually Cain responds, defensive at first, then puzzled and finally becoming concerned when Julia is a little down one day. There are no big romance fireworks and there is no sex in this book, which quite frankly is normally enough to put me off! She has a very remote place this Christmas and is pleased as is looking forward to a quiet Christmas on her own. I loved every minute of it and it was so bittersweet to reach the end and it’s rare that I want to go back to the beginning and start a book again, given there are so many books waiting out there to be read, but that’s how I felt about this one. The Story of Christmas was shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Award, and A Balloon for Grandad was shortlisted for the Mother Goose Award.Excuse me now while I hide in the bathroom sucking my thumb for a while 😏and wait for a new hopefully better new year. While it provided all the cozy feels of the season, it also delved into topics such as grief and the importance of friendship and community.
