In my teens I sat down and wrote out all possible routes through the Maze and back, then tried to work out the shortest path, only to discover that there was a room which couldn't be accessed from any other rooms. It is for people who stray from normal life, past where the sidewalk ends, and wander down the rabbit hole. The entire book is a maze, each page a different room and you flip through the pages like a Choose Your Own Adventure book (a CYOA book on crack). The solution to the main puzzle and attempts at solutions for the other rooms can be found at the forum IntoTheAbyss. My son and I have sat down with this book many times, and we have never successful made it to the middle and back out again. Maybe someone should update it for the 2010's a bit bigger but with more of a real way of solving it.It’s been 30 years since this book was released, 28 years since the competition ended, and people are still trying to figure it out.
