You can control many Live Loops functions and mixing parameters in Logic Pro with a Novation Launchpad. I have to say I’m using it even more than I thought in conjunction with Push and for easy chair production sessions.

With custom sticker packs included you can customise Launchpad S Control Pack for your favourite software. And, while using a touchscreen like the iPad’s is great for some things, adding a matrix of hardware controls creates a more tactile and immediate system. Most other matrix controllers on the market are essentially instantaneous; at last, the Launchpad is able to keep up. Launchpad Pro enables quick access to mixer controls, and lets you control effects, instrument devices and plug-ins mid-performance. Obviously, apps need to be made 'Launchpad-aware' to drive the device in all its multi-colour, multi-level glory.The Launchpad S will not work with an iPad if it is in full-power mode unless a separate powered USB hub is used. Novation has created a Launchpad app for iPad, which hosts its own sounds and enables you to trigger loops with your Launchpad S hardware. The key benefits of the new version for Live users are the brighter LEDs and the faster refresh rate.

All 64 RGB pads light up to match the color of clips in Ableton Live and you can see at a glance what’s loaded, playing and recording. Launchpad S also triggers loops and effects in the new Novation Launchpad app for iPad; a totally self-standing music performance app that hosts sounds and effects. I know there are a lot of ableton controlpads but when u play or use this the first time u will forget the rest .

I wanted a small footprint controller to sit next to my Octatrack on a Roland Laptop stand so I could play using Octatrack and Live from a single table (and Push is too big for that sort of thing. The Novation Launchpad S is an Ableton Live controller and an upgrade of the very popular Novation Launchpad. As well as using your pads to jam in session view or create entire songs, you can also control your mixer: start and stop loops, arm tracks, and control volumes, pans and sends. g large bass speakers or multiple speakers may have to be shipped via a pallet service which may take 1-2 days.

Due to the fact that Velocity is adjustable now, it's no problem to choose the colour of the desired LED. Novation Launchpad is compatible with all versions of Live (Intro/Standard/Suite) and comes bundled with a free license for Live Lite. Similarly - the loopmaster pack is a set of samples - I think, - again, I can`t figure out how to access them. I haven't tried Automap (for the IL mapping to work along with Performance Mode, Automap is NOT to be installed) but maybe it allows you to have some light feedback on it. The app features a 1GB sample pack of brand new hand-picked loops curated by Loopmasters, ranging from drum samples to artist packs across a variety of modern genres.The Bass Station is a "plug in" - Synthesizer, that you can enable within the ableton software (apparently) - I still have not been able to figure out how to enable and use it.

It took the iconic 64 pad grid and added brighter lights with improved construction and rubber pads on the bottom. Chnage the way you produce and perform, use them together for total hands-on control of your mixer, instruments and effects. The Launchpad S Control Pack will allow you to make music quickly and intuitively, without having to keep reaching for the mouse. Novation have made the MIDI specification available online, so if you're feeling adventurous you could probably roll some of your own support code in something like Liine's Lemur app.

It's bright, and the pads are great (not owning the previous Launchpad, I can't compare them), and it is a lot of fun. As well as ‘Ableton Live Launchpad Edition’, Launchpad S comes with a software version of Novation’s classic analogue mono-synth – the Bass Station.
