I bought this book as my son has just started preschool where they will be using the Jolly Phonics system of learning to read. The Rocket and Other Stories contains six engaging fiction stories and provides comprehension questions, discussion activities and guidance for parents. It has a really sweet story which goes with each letter sound, and really bright colourful pictures. I often give it to teachers who are beginning to use the programme so that they can familiarise themselves more quickly with the programme and what it entails.A handy teachers or parents resource providing useful lists of words made from the individual letter sounds and digraphs.
