About this deal

And the red in the dress of the couple shot - can't help but think "Damn that would have been nicer in Portra" So there you go! As for potential new film shooters, it will be our job then to keep talking to everyone that will listen that film photography is on the rise and that everyone else is doing fine! In that sense, I guess it’s little different to Kodak’s Gold 200 or Colorplus 200 or Ultramax 400, or any of the Ilford consumer grade monochrome films either. And more often than not, those films would give me images that would inspire me to keep film alive in my own way. It's relatively forgiving of bad exposure without the need for compensating in the lab, but I would recommend metering this film at EI100 if you want more consistent results.

Good on ya for deciding to undertake a major and expensive trip and restricting yourself to the economical Fujicolor C200. I can see how using one too often might dull your eyes a bit, but switching them up, in this case, would be a great idea. I’m a huge fan of the traditional “Fuji” look, so I’ve tried and shot a lot of their film, and this is hands down my favorite!Interesting comparison, I’ve shot both myself (although a lot more C200 than Colorplus) and always liked the results. Anyone starting film photography on a budget will definitely not splurge for Velvia, Portra or Ektar…. Some of the skin tones in my C200 photos are just a tiny bit off and the less-than sharpness leaves something to be desired.

It is so important, as a fellow shooter, to remember our roots, and I think of that each time I pick up a film camera or two and go out shooting (even if a D-SLR is along as well). When compared to other popular, better looking, and widely available professional-grade color negative films like Kodak Portra and Ektar, these films seem like an unnecessary step down. They also mean C200 is ideal for point ‘n’ shoot cameras that might not meter the light so well or be more restricted with their shutter speed.

Filipina photographer and graphic designer, Lia Candelario, shares with us the wonderful photos from her first time shooting with our LomoChrome Color '92 ISO 400 35 mm film. This trend has me feeling that it’s important right now for us to shoot them and recognize their contribution to the community.

The images have come out with amazingly balanced color in, what I would say, low to medium-contrast.C200 is similar with the greens, although the reds – while still strong – come out a little darker and less gaudy than with the Industrial.
