About this deal

Controls are where you’d expect them to be and the CDJ-400 also has an LCD screen that’s just about the same as the CDJ-800 MK2. The better your problem and question is described, the easier it is for other Pioneer owners to provide you with a good answer. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

Time will tell if it is an innocent service friendly gateway into the guts of the Pioneer family or something that eventually ties them all together in some Pioneeresque digital way. If you find a used Pioneer CDJ for sale that is not in the standard grey and slate finish, then it does not mean it is not a real unit. Please keep in mind this is not compatible with Recordbox, as it uses mp3 files, but not processed with rekordbox. Not matter what you do with Roll, the music is still playing away silently underneath so when you release (and your head nodding is on beat), it should kick back in on beat. But now Pioneer have played not only catchup but in a small way leapfrogged the competition with the new wallet friendly CDJ-400.

It's nothing new - Denon have been doing this for years and I seem to remember a CDJ-200 slipmat hack. The USB slot is a great feature though - I try not to get 'too' used to them though, as the 1000's which I use regularly don't have one. I tested and burned a few CDs and all worked just fine, complete with all CD text and MP3 tags in place. They are smaller then their newer, and more flashy CDJ-800s and CDJ-1000s, which makes for a lighter and more mobile unit. The scratch effects are momentary, or with the "HOLD" button can be applied after the platter has been released. Be aware though the the platter is much smaller than that of the CDJ 800/1000, but if you require less music manipulation than that of club DJ's, then these are fantastic CDJ's.

It's been well thought out as the edge of the platter has a black plastic ring that covers the possibly ragged edge of your creation. It's worth mentioning that while you're using effects, the jog wheel becomes the controller so pitch bend isn't possible. Clearing up the bits that are left - output wise, the CDJ is serviced with regular RCA line out as well as SPDIF digital out. Just simply plug in ONE USB cable to each CDJ straight to the laptop and use any mixer of your choice! Plug in a USB key and not only does it ruin the CDJ-400’s sleek looks, but it’s also just waiting to get snared up in cables or knocked and damaged. You are lucky they have Pioneer gear, and everything you need for mixing should be similar to what you have at home.
