About this deal

A brief guide showing the differences between Cascamite and PVA wood adhesives, what they bond, and which is the best adhesive to use. Do not apply in damp conditions, when rain is likely, or in temperatures below 10°C - between 15°C and 20°C is ideal. Please note: If bonded wood is to be turned on a lathe, it is recommended the wood be seasoned for a minimum of one week before turning. The Fast Curing Winter grade is ideal for colder environments or for a faster cure time requirement. Not only do we sell amazing products, we also use them, allowing us to offer expert advice unrivalled by any other company.

It is now ready for use and will remain usable for 1 hour at 30°c, 4 hours at 20°c, 8 hours at 10°c. Follow the manufacturer's guidelines on the container at all times, following any special precautions. We use the most reliable and cost-effective couriers to get your item to you as swiftly as possible.Whether to use Cascamite or PVA is a common dilemma amongst trades who are creating products with wood.

Addition of too much water will seriously reduce the rate of setting and the gluing properties, particularly at low temperatures. The powder system enables extremely good gap filling properties ensuring water does not enter the joint and produces the strongest bond.Although the new Cascamite and Aerolite UP4145 are different products, you won’t notice much difference between the overall bond performance. Ureka’s PVA’s include Woodstikk D3 PVA Wood Glue (a D3 grade woodworking adhesive) and Woodstikk D4 PVA Wood Adhesive (a higher water resistant D4 grade woodworking adhesive). To ensure that a consistent glue mix with the correct properties is obtained, mixing by weight is strongly recommended.

There are a number of differences between the two types of adhesive, even though they are both desigined for bonding wood and timber. Unfortunately, it is not quite as simple as one is better than the other as it really depends on what you are wanting to achieve.
