About this deal

Although there is nothing to stop you from trying any milk frother with non-dairy milks, their lower fat content means that many reviewers find it can have mixed results. Keep in mind that you don't need to put in the amount of milk your cup takes, for example if you're making a cappuccino in a 300ml cup, you wouldn't need to start out with 300ml of milk, as you'll have your espresso in the cup too of course, but also because the milk will stretch, meaning it'll grow in volume, and how much it will stretch will depend on how long you aerate for. Believe it or not, Kapuziner was first created in Vienna, where the Italian word for hood (of the robes of Capuchin monks) was used to describe this coffee, the recipe for which was first printed in 1790.

We compiled a list of fans they recommended, noting how effective they found them, and whether they were particularly good for any certain needs. For our list, we've chosen handheld electric milk frothers, which work like a vortex to inject air into the milk. In more recent (but even harder to actually verify) history, someone somewhere down under (I'll let Australia and New Zealand argue this one between them) started making a smaller bubbled milk foam to make the Flat White. If you watch the video below where I've queued it, you can see me using a very similar frother, and you'll see that it is possible to create something that will just about create latte are, and I'm not latte art champion ;-), and that was my first attempt at using that hand whisk (which isn't this one, but is one of the other very similar models on the market) but you'll see it doesn't do a bad job even on my first try.

If you were to put milk in a jar and froth it by shaking it furiously, you'd also be agitating it, and probably agitating anyone else who happens to be present, as an added bonus ;-). Piccolo is similar in size to cortado but a bit more delicate, around 1:2 espresso/milk Can you use milk frothers for milkshakes? And those signature die-cast powder coated looks are available in a range of colours to match any other Smeg appliances you might own. The cleaning brush is hilariously adorable, I didn't think it's be much use for the machine but it's actually handy for cleaning the frothing whisky things.

The problem with the Bodum frother is it’s just so fragile, I have gone through so many of the them it’s ridiculous. I have owned and used a few different frothers and they are well worth it if you like a frothy coffee.

Milk frothers come in various types, with electric milk frothers and milk frother heaters being some of the best options on the market. Latte is made with approx 1:4 espresso to milk ratio, with 3 parts of the milk being hot milk, and 1 part being foam, roughly.
