I’m not a stickler on what my wedges “sound” like, but I’m certainly concerned with feel and feedback. If the ball is climbing up the face, wouldn’t this imply that grooves (teeth) are not biting the ball? With some of the technology that Indi golf discovered, they decided to make both conforming and non conforming golf wedges. The Indi Stingray TT wedge gives you much of the the look, feel, and performance of the original, but in a legal version.

Below is a photo after a session of over 50 balls, and when the clubface is wiped clean, there are some subtle signs of softening in those contact areas. A lot of that is because of how I play my wedges around the greens, but I found my comfort level with these so much faster than I did with the FLX grinds. Another aspect I want to point out, is that the leading edge gets a bit more rounded as you go higher in loft. INDI is no doubt going to be a future force that takes the golf world by storm if they continue to put out tour quality products like this. Most importantly though, this wedge did perform incredibly well at getting balls to check up on pitch shots, as well as full swings, allowing one to be more aggressive when pulling it out of the bag. Even with my flat swing, I was still stopping the ball faster than with my previous “big name” wedges. I like the the glare-free look, plus it seems to hold up better and not show as many bag dings along the way.

With the ATK, you are going to see lots of forgiveness and relief for those wedge shots that don’t hit the center of the clubface. Launch: The Scoopback design of the wedge allows for a lower, more-controllable launch with a slightly higher center of gravity than most wedges.
