About this deal

I thought this would be a great alternative to mince pies but if you’d rather, you can use normal jam for a classic bake like a traditional bakewell tart from Bakewell or you could even use mincemeat for a real festive taste. A light shortbread base is topped with a generous layer of brandy mincemeat and smothered in almond brandy frangipane. But you can also have it for dessert and it’s perfect for taking to a festive gathering, school bake sale or dinner party. Our mission is to give our members insight into what they are eating to empower them to make more informed food choices.

This twist on a traditional bakewell tart recipe is a classic almond topped tart with a frangipane filling but you can also top it with glace icing and decorate it with cherries for an iced tart or festive Cherry Bakewell instead. Food products are regularly improved and the ingredients/nutritional information may occasionally change.A Bakewell Tart is such a classic traditional British recipe that I thought I’d try baking with a festive twist using Christmas jam instead of traditional raspberry jam for a lovely festive twist with this Festive Bakewell Tart. To ensure that you have the most up-to-date and accurate information, it is essential to read the product label rather than relying solely on information provided online. In this Christmas Bakewell tart, the jam has been replaced by a thick, meaty layer of sweet mincemeat and just a tiny pinch of mixed spice in the frangipane topping. Each of these frangipane tarts is topped with soft fondant icing and finished off with a signature cherry on top.

Traditionally, the tart has a layer of jam on the pastry base which is then covered with a delicious frangipane (almond and egg) cake-like topping and finished halfway though baking with a sprinkling of flaked almonds. Carefully transfer the dough into the tin and press, using a spare piece of dough, into every corner of the tin.Purchasing via an affiliate link doesn’t cost you any extra, and I only recommend products and services I trust. Whilst the tart is cooling, make your frangipane by first creaming together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. For the icing, mix the icing sugar with enough lukewarm water to create a paste thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
