About this deal

made it better, tied it to an historical event, and added a few other pieces to the mix (sorry, no spoilers) to elevate it above the staples of its genre. Cameron Becker is a former military man now working in private security who finds himself embroiled in a race against time to stop a virus from killing humanity. Cameron Becker, former army ranger and CID is now a private military contractor (PMC) in Iraq charged with ferrying Russian businessman, Belikov, into the green (safe) zone in Baghdad.

Having always enjoyed a passion for storytelling, he began writing short stories from a young age, eventually moving up to full-length novels and the publication of his first Ryan Drake novel in 2012. This is a great thriller that will keep you reading along, a page-turner you won't want to put down. For fans of World War Z , a chilling mystery, an ancient threat, and a race against time to save humanity--inspired by the true events of the Dyatlov Pass incident Russia, 1959. Solid on all accounts with nothing egregiously stupid or gratuitously violent getting in the way of telling a story.Various characters annoyed me at times but in ways that fit with the narrative and not counter to who they were or the story. Is there ANY computer nerd out there who hasn’t been caught hacking a super secret government site and been given the choice of working for The Man or going to prison? I wouldn’t like to see the more gruesome parts in movie form but I could see with the right adaptation, a great film as well. There are so many characters and so many locations that the reader doesn't get the chance to get bored.

Although this is deliberate — Jordan even states in his acknowledgments that “it was never my intention to use this book to critique or comment on real-life events and politics” — it nevertheless feels like a missed opportunity. His books understandably have a cinematic quality, being fast-paced, suspenseful, and efficiently told.True to his rule of keeping to the logic of his world, Jordan’s characters are surprisingly realistic, facing numerous setbacks and coping with limitations. We get involved with Becker and Dalton and care about them as they run through the maze to figure out what the virus is, how to stop it, and where to find the antidote. Sure, the author could have given the characters more depth but it wasn't necessary for this type of story. Dark Harvest is a solid addition to the zombie offshoot of the science fiction genre, and I'm pleased to have read it.

The the issue with and RPG 7 thermobaric shot that destroy a building and was able to destroy the infected and virus. I don't think there was a moment in this book where I wasn't grounded in the setting and following the action with ease and enjoyment. However, when he’s not drinking and critiquing the latest slop from Hollywood, Jordan is actually an accomplished novelist who practices what he preaches, having written 11 books of the bestselling “Ryan Drake” series.
