With a sleek, minimal design and two control knobs, you can easily switch speeds or control the volume, whether you want quiet personal listening or you're hosting a party, the C62 is the perfect choice. The clear perspex dust-cover slips securely onto its hinges, the aluminium tonearm is sturdy in its mounting plate, the rubbery feet that support the plinth and (allegedly) isolate it from vibration feel quite robust, the couple of control dials on the plinth’s surface operate with chunky reassurance.Set-up took about 10-15 minutes, and the only thing I had to read the manual on was “balancing” the tonearm. Not only can it play vinyl, but the integrated Bluetooth connectivity also allows you to stream music from your smartphone/media device, making it the ultimate media hub at home. There’s a lot of nostalgia in this turntable for me as opening up and playing some old vinyl has been a great experience in the last week since I set it up. Those little loudspeakers are a passive, two-way design – so they are, admittedly, just as they appear to be.
The Crosley C62 is about as ‘plug and play’ as any system that includes a record player could possibly be. If using as a Line output (determined by the phono/line switch on back of unit) you can use these jacks to hook it into self-powered/active speakers. The matching MDF speakers look just as good as the turntable and each rock a mid[1]range speaker and tweeter.
