About this deal

Can't say I have had much trouble getting what I have from the list above, but figuring out those things definitely took a long time, yes. Experience the immersive power of jaw dropping visuals of the AOC AG274QXM 27" QHD IPS G-SYNC Compatible 170Hz Gaming Monitor (AG274QXM).

It offers 576 local dimming zones, a high peak brightness of 1000+ nits and the colour enhancements associated with HDR. Coverage is shown in absolute numbers as well as relative, which helps identify where the coverage extends beyond a given reference space. We should start by saying that it was actually impossible to reliably measure the pixel response times using any of our test equipment, due to the PWM behaviour of the backlight. Information about other features of the current model, which are important and have to be specified. There are a range of blue light reduction modes in the OSD for pre-defined usage like internet, office and multimedia for instance.

But that doesn't help me - it takes a long time for our eyes to adjust to and make a reasonable assessment of any new monitor, not to mention the time needed to find a proper configuration etc.

In the summary section the small table included shows the average G2G response time measured at several refresh rates (where supported), along with the optimal overdrive setting we found. This display does not feature variable overdrive unfortunately, a feature that is almost exclusively available from Native NVIDIA G-sync module screens and designed to control response times and overshoot across the refresh rate range, being particularly useful for VRR situations. Including the AOC 24G2U, AOC 27G2U, Asus TUF Gaming VG24VQ, LG 24GL650, Pixio PX247 and ViewSonic VX2458-C.Heck it even removes the only advantage of external monitor PSUs - thinner power cabling going into the monitor.

At the lower end this can be important if you are using the screen up close for more general office-type work, especially in darker room conditions or at night. Information about the maximum vertical viewing angle, within which the image on the screen is of acceptable quality. At the upper end this can be important for gaming from a further distance, especially in brighter rooms and the daytime. Without further ado, let’s get into the meat and potatoes of what matters most in a gaming monitor: the display.Beneath the gamma graph we include the average overall gamma achieved along with the average for dark shades (0 – 50) and for lighter shades (50 – 100). I also agree that 32" is a better resolution overall for 2160p, but after a few in-person tests I've settled on 32" just being too damn large for me, especially with the secondary display. Within the OSD menu are a range of gaming settings like a shadow control, Game Color control and Frame Counter. Let's say that MiniLED array doubles that, and add 65W for charging and another 20W for the USB ports - that's still "just" ~200W. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the width is calculated from the diagonal and the aspect ratio.

If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the height is calculated from the diagonal and the aspect ratio. It’s worth noting here that the screen has a 1440p resolution (2560 x 1440) and so will be a lesser strain on your system than if it were 4K, like some other 27″ sized screens, particularly those with FALD/Mini LED backlights. For movies, music, games and more, you’ll enjoy quality audio without the hassle of connecting external speakers. Gamut coverage – we provide measurements of the screens colour gamut relative to various reference spaces including sRGB, DCI-P3, Adobe RGB and Rec. Through a single slim cable, AOC USB-C technology powers up to 65W, charging conventional low/high power devices (such as your mouse or keyboard), smartphones and laptops. My only experience with FALD IPS is a Samsung Q80 and QN80 (2021) both had pretty terrible image quality compared to The Samsung QN90a and my C1 especially in hdr maybe it's the size and on somthing 27/32 it would be less noticeable. The full native colour gamut of the backlight is active, producing very vivid and saturated colours, especially in red and green tones. The IPS panel offers some solid all round performance including wide viewing angles and a stable image quality.
