The palate is medium showing more tropical fruit and not as grassy or acidic as offerings such as Oyster Bay. Grown on a variety of soil types - gravels which provide tropical flavours, clay loams produce citrus notes, and deep silty soils lift the aromatic quality.

Named for the alluvial plains upon which the vineyards are planted, and featuring imagery of the handcarved Greywacke Stone by local Hawke’s Bay sculptor Ema Scott, this is a quality example of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc wine. A useful resource for hunting down that rare bottle or a birthday-year wine for a loved one’s special day. A straightforward Sauvignon from a difficult vintage in Marlborough, this offers aromas of melon, guava, peach and jalapeño peppers. New Zealand’s Marlborough wine region began its rapid development in the early 1970s, when the first grape vines were planted here. The bitterness of melon rind comes in on the finish, but there's enough acidity to keep the palate refreshing, interesting, and quite food friendly.
