I don't think it has been helped by some of the others in the line that weren't as good as the original (Casual Chic, Fraiche, Parisian Break) which tends to make you less likely to purchase the original in the line (or any of the other flankers). The top notes, or perhaps the most immediate of the top notes, are faintly reminiscent of fruity pepper, orange and cold water (which I do believe has a particular scent). I would put this head to head with Prada L’Homme for office use any day of the week, and overall I feel this is pretty versatile as well except for hot weather use and the gym.

Givenchy Gentlemen Only just kind of hung out in the background in comparison to all these other fragrances that were dropping around that time (there were a lot! The only bad part is that the freshness is completely gone, and the drydown notes are pretty heavy and dense compared to the opening.To me, the mandarin comes on strong but quickly takes a back seat to the vetiver and red pepper then settles into a woodsy, incense kind of scent. Whether floral or woody, fresh or spicy, Givenchy fragrances reveal every facet of the elegant, independent women and men who wear them. very energetic, energizing, awakening and alive, i bought it for my husband on the valentine's and he too much liked it.
