I am excited to see how Jennifer proceeds with the story, as I feel we've barely dipped our toes into this new world.I do think it's too early to tell on the pacing issues, as that's actually never been a JLA problem in her first book in the series.

However, her luck changes when she becomes the secret courtesan of Baron Archwood in exchange for protection. To see her become the badass she's meant to be, is going to be sweet🤌 I liked she was ready to be vulnerable with Thorne and her fiesty nature suited her quite well. The events at the end of the book had me wishing I could reach into the book and shake the shit out of her a few times because it was so obvious what was about to happen or that what she was being told was more than likely a lie yet she didn’t question it at all.The Mister would’ve punished him for talking back in front of Hyhborn, and far too many didn’t survive his punishments. The writing style was the decent part about this also a major reason why I would continue the series and read other works by this author because the writing style was addicting 'not Rina Kent addicting' but rather 'good addicting'. I had my own bed—an actual bed and not a pile of flat blankets or a mattress made of flea-infested straw—but I still couldn’t wrap my head around it.
