As if the beauty Gods were staring right down at me themselves, while I was over there CeraVe introduced me to a new Blemish Control range of products for mild acne-prone skin (I audibly gasped cause, meant 2 b). The formula isn't harsh on the skin and it leaves you feeling clean without stripping the skin and making you feel to tight or uncomfortable. The former targets people with rough and bumpy skin, while the latter targets those with blemish-prone skin. Formulated with an oil-absorbing technology using Hectorite Clay, CeraVe Blemish Control Cleanser helps remove dirt and excess oil, to minimise shine.

There are so many good ingredients in this thing that would cost a fortune to get separately, they just need to make the directions better. Also, avoid using toners or other serums with active ingredients that will cause further irritations when layered together. Foams up nicely, easy to dispense and really helped clear up some spots I had before I started using it. Salicylic acid is a type of BHA, an exfoliating acid that sloughs off dead skin cells to help visibly reduce blemishes and the appearance of pores and blackheads from the skin's surface while helping to prevent future breakouts. It helps the skin to repair sun damage, calm down inflammation and keep maintain good levels of moisture.The product has a super lightweight gel texture which feels comfortable on spots (even the painful ones), and works best overnight, IMO. I think this is a view many who suffer with spot-prone skin share; unless you can afford to go to the fancy derm and fork out for a new range of blemish-banishing products, you’re down and out of luck. This cleanser is for you if you have acne-prone skin, particularly oily skin and struggle with white and blackheads. I have tried a lot in over the last 10 years or so as can say this definitely would be the best of the bunch. It pumps out of the bottle as a rather thick clear consistency but it is really easy to lather up so a little goes a long way. However, these days it’s more possible than ever before to build a comprehensive, effective routine on a budget. I started with the blemish control cleanser in the shower, and was really surprised at how moisturising it was. The main thing I noticed when using these CeraVe products was how hydrating they were despite the 2% salicylic acid.
