About this deal

We do soul/funk to middle of the road rock and some heavier rock as well and I get every sound I want. I also love the fact that you can program multiple effects into one single pedal, so each pedal can trigger multiple effects at the same time.

In the ME-50 there was often a noticeable lag which made it a show stopper when playing live, for some people. The ME-70 inhabits an essential area between a bag of stompboxes and commitment to a full-on, floor pedalboard.

Just used this pedal for the first time at a gig, it beats carrying around a heavy case full of individual pedals, and has a lot of great new features that i didnt have before, even with a delay, chorus, distortion and reverb pedal, i wont be looking back. Do remember that having anything plugged into the rec/head out jack engages the simulation for BOTH outputs.

AF method (Adaptive Focus method) is a proprietary method from Roland *The specifications are subject to change without notice. As if there weren't enough foot switches already, you can add 2 more external Boss FS-5U or one FS-6, which will then switch the Preamp and Reverb sections on and off, as will also serve as separate Bank Select up/down switches. Since this unit is really digital with analog knobs, often the control positions don't match what is actually being played.

Simply dial up one of the six pre-programmed pedal-control destinations (Wah, Voice, +1 Octave, -1 Octave, Mod Rate, and Delay Level), put your foot down, and express yourself. Don't get me wrong, this is a great unit and I still use one today in professional gigging situations for one or two very simple effects however I really do feel now that analogue or 'big-bucks' is the only way to achieve the best tone now and I don't think this will be on my pedal board for much longer! This counter intuitive monster shall be the first to take a human life if machines ever become self aware. the cosm amps on there are quite good too to get the marshall ditortion he had live from definitely maybe period but cant remember the name of the corresponding cosm setting name at the mooment! Some have complained how hard it is, but as explained in the manual it's simple to adjust, and when you do it you also recalibrate the pedal range. It shares the layout and appearance of it's predecessor, the ME-50, and it would be logical to assume this is an "ME-50 plus 20," but that's not what it is. It turned out to be a case of when and when not to utilize amp and speaker emulations, and what types of speakers to use in each case.

Acoustic Sim tone setting, "name brand" OD/DS setting names, ring modulator, stereo chorus settings, and 2 of the previous 4 types of reverb (it now has only Room and Hall). I've given up using the preamp settings, as they all sound awful, and the distortions sound pretty awful too if I use too much Drive. This feature is useful to record with simply by plugging in directly to a sound card, and bypassing the need for amps and mics. The one on the ME-50 is fantastic, and definitely doesn’t have that ‘digital trail’ thing which I’m very sensitive to as well - in fact, it’s one reason I chose the ME-50 over my analogue pedalboard. I found that setting the overdrive section to Natural with the Drive around noon was like adding a second channel to the single channel Reverend and Orange amps.It turns out that inserting a plug into the ME-70 rec/phones socket enables miked speaker simulation, on all outputs. A usb feature would be the only thing i'd personally add, in case you want to move preset banks on to the computer for storage.
