About this deal

The most prominent of these being the story of Rosemary and George’s enduring relationship, told through a series of flashbacks throughout the book. It also brought into sharp clarity the ease with which it is possible to put someone in danger, quite unintentionally, because of naivety on our part. It made me laugh, it made me cry and left me with a feeling of community spirit - I will definitely be recommending this to others, it is a fantastic read' ? I don't think it helped that I've had respiratory issues for the last six months and the descriptions of people fighting for breath were a little too familiar! Loveday and Kelly (Saturday girl Madison as well as Nathan) are soon all helping people in the best ways they can.

It could have felt a bit contrived, as so many books are listed and recommended, but somehow it works. The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products.Others flit in and out of the book and we get to know their situations and the unique pressures facing each of them at that time. I didn't realise before I read it that there was a book that came before it, but I have now bought that to read as well, as I think it will fill in some of the gaps and Archie was talked about so much that I want to know more about him. I will say that I really enjoyed the characters, both major and minor, they were well rounded and had great little stories all of their own.

I come from Whitby and know York very well and there were countless mistakes regarding both places which really annoyed me and prevented me believing that’s where they were supposed to be. Everything Stephanie Butland wrote about about that period was so relatable, even though the story was set in York - thank you. However, it was a joy to read and I love the idea of a book pharmacy and even reading this book will give you lots more to add your “to read lists”. It's filled with the recommendations that they provide - books for loneliness, books to scare you, books for being normal or books to travel somewhere new. Loved also that so many great books are mentioned and recommended, especially for specific needs, recovering from loss, and adding to wonderful events and hopes for the future.A love letter to books, so many are mentioned and how they might help with various emotional states. I loved the quotes and the chapters where it feels that Stephanie Butland is talking to me personally about the power of books and reading. Beautifully written and thought provoking, it has reminded me of books I had forgotten about but will certainly read again plus some that I am unfamiliar with but will look out for. A cosy story about the joy of stories, not only the books that are recommended for people who ask but the lives of the different people who receive them.
