About this deal

The album surpassed Elastica‘s self-titled album to become the fastest selling debut album in British music history, shifting over 360,000 copies in its first week, and remains the fastest selling debut album by a band. The album includes their first two singles "I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor" and "When the Sun Goes Down", as well as re-recorded versions of both tracks from the band's debut EP, Five Minutes with Arctic Monkeys. With his later side projects (The Last Shadow Puppets with Miles Kane, and the soundtrack to the film 'Submarine'), he has become one of my favourite young musicians. I love this album for the guitar runs, especially on the B side, and the guitars in particular are extremely clear and isolated.

Products labelled '*item fulfilled by Exertis on behalf of hmv' will be supplied to you directly by Exertis via their approved couriers. As for the band now, they are back with an outstanding new album AM , which might be their best yet. Don't compare it to the best bands of all time, compare it to the current crop of what's out there - these guys absolutely blow away Hard-Fi, the Rakes, the Editors, Maximo Park, We Are Scientists, Kaiser Chiefs, etc etc.

Released in 2006, the Arctic Monkeys' debut album was fairly typical of the 'good' (in my opinion) music that was in the charts at the time. hence the razor-sharp lyricism that fuels songs like a certain romance, a witty observation of small-town life where theres only music so that theres new ringtones and where going out could sometimes mean having a pool cue wrapped around your head.

Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not is the debut studio album by English rock band Arctic Monkeys, released on 23 January 2006 by Domino Recording Company. No band will ever be the Beatles, and Oasis have two great albums while the Arctic Monkeys have only released one album to date, and its a totally different style and sound than Oasis. And once we’ve found that gem of a record, we do everything we can to help you appreciate the music.

in fact, this album ends so strongly that its ridiculous, with the great lyrics and varied sound of When the Sun Goes Down. It is however, an absolute stonker of an album and I highly recommend that if you haven't heard it yet, that you go and do so!Transport yourself to the heart of the British indie rock scene with this classic record that will have you singing along and feeling every beat. The debut Arctic Monkeys album is, as we all know, one of the finest debut statements in rock history. I could hear in their sound both the Libertines and Franz Ferdinand, bands which were by then well established. Breathless, hyperbolic praise was piled upon the Arctic Monkeys and their Bdebut album, Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not, an instant phenomenon without peer.
