About this deal

Manual: As its clear from the name, such scarifiers does not have any power source. Instead, such a machine seeks your muscle power to mover over a lawn and cut through the thatches. They are available in affordable price ranges but are good only for small lawns. So, you can consider one of these tools for any yard up to 100 m2.

Being an electric scarifier, you can start the device instantly by pushing a button. Similarly, it comes with a safety switch that prevents accidental starting. On the downside, it's corded, which limits movement during operation. It weighs 12.25 kg and is built with alloy steel for enhanced durability. Pros: The manual scarifier from Costway is fitted with a spiral non-slip handle that increases friction and ensures your hands don’t slip when operating the machine. We appreciate how easy it is to assemble. It has a simple instruction manual with easy-to-follow step-by-step guidelines. Pros Electric: Corded and cordless versions of lawn scarifiers are the most common. These machines either draw power from mains or a rechargeable battery. For sensible money you can buy this 2-in-1 scarifier and aerator from VonHaus. It really only has two competitors in my mind other than the Makita UV3600 Lawn Scarifier which isn’t even fair to review in the same category – let’s just call the Makita a Tiller :D. Firstly the better but way more expensive Bosch AVR 1100 Verti Cutter Lawn Raker and the BMC that looks to be built on the same tech with the same depth of lawn rake (15mm to -7mm). As a lawn aerator I Fancied the Einhell, but as a scarifier of lighter material, on money, this wins hands down at just over half the price! I think for thatch this is a real winner:

Power Source: If you choose a powered scarifier, consider the power source. Gas or petrol-powered scarifiers are generally more powerful but require more maintenance and emit exhaust fumes. Electric scarifiers are quieter, cleaner, and easier to maintain but may be less powerful.

Available as either corded, where you’ll need a power supply, or cordless, these have knife blades attached to their cylinders rather than tines, making them effective at removing moss and thatch. Used on the lowest setting, they create slits in the turf, which helps aerate it.
