About this deal

Feed them, take them to the doctor when they're sick, don't beat them, and don't sell them to strangers. Isadora also becomes friends with her co-worker Tyler and, through her, meets the incredibly gorgeous Ry.

It did have some entertaining scenes, but it could have been such an epic book had the issues I mentioned above not been present. It was still candy, I still devoured it pretty quickly, but it was like the candy in the vending machine that wasn't quite what you were craving, but you got anyway because at least it was chocolate. Cast out, Isadora's mom starts giving birth to a daughter named Dora and she decides to possibly (forget it, you know she is) giving Ry a chance although she doesn't believe in his love-crap baloney. Based on the book’s description, I thought this was going to be an epic fantasy book about Egyptian mythology but I hate to say that I was very disappointed. Isadora whined and whined and whined about how her parents didn't love her and how she was forgettable. As a mere mortal, she knows her life will one day end, and she knows her parents could stop it, if only they cared enough to actually try. I know that the United States is a relatively new country, but Isadora's opinion of it is pretty harsh. And of course because this is YA she's guaranteed a man-cessory who helps her break that hard bitchy exterior of hers (he doesn't, despite what White says).

After reading the synopsis I thought of it as a light comedy read, a plot where the daughter of an immortal god family is frustrated with the constant overshadowing of her parent’s reputation as the most celebrated gods of Egypt.Isadora is forced to take a job at a museum where she is promptly allowed to turn her interior design hobby into actual work. Di Bartolo follows Lips Touch: Three Times—his acclaimed 2009 collaboration with his wife, Laini Taylor—with a project that gives him more scope for story. Kiersten White, New York Times bestselling author of Paranormalcy, is back with The Chaos of Stars, an enchanting novel set in Egypt and San Diego that captures the magic of first love and the eternally complicated truth about family. Since it's mainly about the egyptian ones, they were more on the background and don't find out about him until way later in the book.

Isadora is tired of living with crazy relatives who think she’s only worthy of a passing glance—so when she gets the chance to move to California with her brother, she jumps on it.

For all ebook purchases, you will be prompted to create an account or login with your existing HarperCollins username and password. I have never pictured a world where the Gods are still living, have children, and deal with things like sibling rivalry and redecorating bedrooms.

Anyways, Isis forces Isadora to take a job at a museum full of artifacts she has donated for a brief collection. And I’d choose you; in a hundred lifetimes, in a hundred worlds, in any version of reality, I’d find you and I’d choose you. I think it is more the combining mythology with the modern – it could have gone smoother and could have been more well-rounded. Ebooks fulfilled through Glose cannot be printed, downloaded as PDF, or read in other digital readers (like Kindle or Nook). Also another reason why I was a little scared to start The Chaos of Stars is that I saw a lot of mixed reviews of it on Goodreads.

It's a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants kind of job, and there's no way to say or do everything perfectly. Until that point, Isadora lives in an ancient temple complex in the Egyptian desert—this is because her mother is the goddess Isis, and her father is Osiris. Her father, Osiris, god of the underworld, was sort of an enigma to me but I'm sure he can raise hell (Ha. Once in San Diego, she is horrified at the prospect of yet ANOTHER inconvenient pregnancy, in this case, her brother's wife's incoming baby. This beautiful cover got me and the name and time period in which it was published had me confusing it with These Broken Stars.
