About this deal
Also I realized that always in Fae related books there has to be a some sort of scene where the MC drinks some faerie wine/fruit and becomes intoxicated/delirious and soon after that is there some sort of intimate sceneš¶ the one here was *chokes* awful. I am not a pretty thing to be manipulated. I am darkness, and the power rushing through my veins is stronger than everā¦ with the darkness swirling about the room and my shadows becoming one with it, I feel more alive than I ever have.ā I am a great thief. I can steal just about anything. But a faerie prince's heart? I wouldn't know where to start.ā Although YA, this does have some older themes. Considering the target age audience - I would hope there are trigger/content warnings for the published book. THE PREMISE WAS INTERESTING enough, although at times I felt like it tried to do too much. There was supposed to be this big competition to win the Prince's heart, but we never met any of the other girls and it didn't really feel like a competition because there was I never questioned if Brie was going to win or not
He is unable to rewrite the past, but he refuses to leave her heart in fateās hands. For this girl, he is willing to climb up into the sky and rearrange all the stars. Better than nothing,ā say so many who support the Seven. āItās a start.ā Or worse, āIf people donāt want to be sold to the fae, they shouldnāt take on so much debt.ā Brie is a thief and a good one, so good that sheās attracted the attention of a Fae king to help him steal artefacts from his rival to bring him more power with the realm. Thereās no one else, and you know it,ā Nik says, but thereās no bite in her words, only resignation. the human girl fell in love with the stunning seductive fairy prince within 5 minutes and then they lived happily ever afterā,Just a cut? Itās an infection waiting to happen.ā She nods to her bedroom. āCome with me. I can help.ā You know a story is good when it overrides your prescription sleeping medication. I was up far too late reading this book. But its one of my preferred ways of falling asleep; right in the arms of my fae lovers. Now, that being said, I really enjoyed reading this. Did I guess everything that happened because itās basically just like every other faerie book? Yes. Did I eat it up? Also yes. The plot is well paced throughout the story and the characters well formed. I didnāt see the twist at the end coming but I loved it. I loved everything about the story and if youāve read and enjoyed ACOTAR youāll definitely enjoy reading Abriellaās story and the two magical princes that may or may not steal her heart.
I loved the world Lexi Ryan created. I really liked the different creatures and how the society works as a whole. Complementing the mesmerizing plot is an otherworldly setting, replete with magic, mythical creatures, and feuding royals. Ryan provides just enough detail to paint a picture of the realm without ever becoming mired down in minutiae. You will not find any info dumping in this book ā only concise accounts. The not so good
Is it true that the main characters resemble those of Sarah J. Maas? Physically, this book mixes Rowan (Ronan), Bryce (Abriella) and Rhysand (Finn), so I guess I could say yes š Also Finn's personality reminded me of Rhys at times, but that doesnāt mean that they havenāt their own characteristics. As for the love triangle, personally Iām not a huge fan of this trope, but I found interesting that the love interests (Finn and Ronan) werenāt perfect and had gray moralities, which is a bit out of the stereotype that other books paint. Neither changed their plans (even if their intentions were different) because of their romantic interest in her. Itās hardly credible that Brie accepted the bond after spending years steadfast in her decision of not to be a slave or controlled by anyone. As much love as she felt, it all felt very convenient, and it wasnāt convincing. There is treachery, secrets planted here and there, betrayals, secret missions, magic and court intrigue. She won a Romance Writers of America RITA award for Best Contemporary Romance: Long in the year 2018.
