About this deal

Cobra uses a lifting, pressed steel, blade. The cuts are clean and lift the grass in and into the grass box. And because of the superb cutting performance, the clippings are small and compacted into the grass box to make the most of the space available. However, the big benefit of this machine is it can mulch your clippings, or feed them into the 50 litre collection bag. If you like to mulch your clippings to save time in your lawn care routine, this is a great feature to have, and not many cordless electric mowers offer it. It mulches with ease but if you prefer to collect clippings, it comes with a fabric grass bag. It has a 50L capacity and indicates when it is full. Another feature that comes in handy is a power indicator on the handle. This will alert you when the battery is nearly flat. Another option is robot lawn mowers. While these do not generally have a mulching feature, they cut regularly so can still be used for mulching. Once set up, they are easy to use and require very little effort. Mulching Mechanism The Cobra MX4140V is powered by a Samsung 40V Lithium-ion battery offering a quiet, yet powerful and lightweight combination. The Cobra 40V Lithium-ion technology means the tool is always ready to use, suffers from no self-discharge and has no memory effect.

Those that want a compact (34cm cutting width) cordless mower that is easy to manoeuvre around the garden. Li-ion battery that powers Cobra cordless lawnmowers allow you to get more done in less time with power and performance. If you have a large garden and want to minimise your environmental footprint when mowing, the Cobra MX4140V is a bigger, slightly sturdier option. The cutting heights range between 25mm and 75mm, which is versatile enough for most lawn needs. However, I will point out that some people prefer the lowest option available, to go down to 20mm, so if this sounds like you, you might find that 25mm is not suitable. The switch you can see in the picture is the isolating switch and can be removed for safety. Try not to lose it like hubby does with his keys. Another great feature is a rear roller for that professional striped look. The mulching roller mower allows you to choose between 5 height settings according to the season or your needs.

I was very impressed by how well I could push the Cobra MX41-40V up over some of the lumpier parts of the lawn, too (a year of diggers and cranes rumbling over it during renovations has taken its toll). We take pride in our professionalism and deep understanding of lawnmowers and garden equipment. Our team consists of knowledgeable experts who stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements. We are committed to sharing our expertise with you, ensuring that you make informed decisions and find the perfect lawnmower for your specific needs. Reliability:Another leading option for battery mulching lawn mower is the Cobra MX4140V. It has a 41cm cut width and a 40V battery. This makes it ideal for small gardens. You get a decent run time of 30 to 40 minutes. Another benefit is that the battery is interchangeable with other Cobra equipment in the same range. Cobra is a brand name of Henton & Chattell – one of the UK’s biggest garden machinery distributors, founded in 1931. The settings for the cutting heights are similar to on the model we just looked at, meaning the range is a bit limited, from 25 to 75mm. I would also highly recommend this Cobra MX4140V to anyone who has a slightly more rugged garden. Since it is so easy to move around, thanks to the ergonomic handles and larger rear wheels. It offers increased power when the ground gets a little tougher to mow, so would work excellently in this type of garden.

Cobra’s electric mowers are also known to be quite good. They use a lot more plastic on these types of mowers than their gasoline-powered machines, meaning they’re lighter, and can feel a bit flimsy. However, their mowers are still very well made. If you don’t mind paying a bit more for a quality mower, then Cobra is definitely worth looking at. This is a steady and sturdy option. The NX46SP NX46SP-18 is a robust and durable option at a fair price. It has a generous 46cm cutting width so will take care of larger lawn areas with ease. The 140cc Briggs & Stratton engine has plenty of power. I really like how lightweight the Cobra MX4140V is and this means that it is beautifully easy to move around. It is a push mower, but you won’t feel as though you are exerting any effort and the way that it is designed means that manoeuvring it is a breeze; but I will talk more on that later. For anyone who wants a lightweight and no-nonsense mower that still offers an excellent choice of functions, I’d highly recommend this one is on your shortlist. In my Cobra MX4140V review and video, I’ll be taking you through the finer details of this nifty piece of garden equipment so you can see for yourself if this mower is right for you and your lawn. Main Features Under the Cobra brand name, which was launched in 2013, you’ll find a wide range of garden tools and machinery, including lawn mowers, chainsaws, strimmers, and hedge trimmers. Cobra makes a few different cordless electric lawn mowers, and this is one of their smaller, cheaper options. I would love to be able to buy a second battery at a reasonable price. A second battery makes all the difference when it comes to powering any cordless tool. Although the Samsung battery has 2.5 Ah of power, it may not be enough to mow my 300m² lawn in one go if I’ve let the grass grow too long. It is light at only 12.5kg which makes it easy to move and more accurate. Despite the weight, it has a tough build that is made to last. One of the things I love about the Cobra MX3440V is its soft foam grip on the handlebar, which makes it comfortable to operate. It’s also a quiet machine, producing only 67 decibels at the operator’s level. Overall, I think it’s a great value for money and I can see why it was an award-winning mower for 2019.

Design & Features

The CobraMX4140V is relatively quiet too, so that’s a bonus if you have moany neighbours. All in all I am very pleased to have come into the new world of lawnmowers. I may even mow the lawn myself (could never get the old petrol one even started!). And at least we won’t run out of petrol for this one! The brushless motor is an important feature. It improves the run time of the battery and also makes for low noise output. A fairly unique feature that comes in handy on those gloomy days is LED headlights. It has a robust alloy steel construction. The power cable is only 10m so you might need an extension cord for larger areas. There are seven cutting height settings, which is plenty for an electric mower at this price point, and you also get a rear roller for mowing stripes. As you mow, you’ll need to collect your clippings in the included 40 litre collection bag – there is no option to mulch your clippings.
