About this deal

I saw another reviewer say that this is advertised as 500-lumen, but only puts out 200 -- well, evidently he didn't read the user manual on how to activate 500-lumen mode. It really does put out a ton of light. As for the TINI 2’s components, it contains a typical lithium-ion battery rated at 280 mAh. Meanwhile, the dual LEDs installed are P8 LEDs from OSRAM, one of the most reputable brands when it comes to anything that lights up. We’re always happy to see when brands source quality components from reputable manufacturers, whether it’s zippers, fabrics—or in this case—LEDs because of the peace of mind it gives. I'll put the good stuff up front, you can scroll down for more info. This is the smallest brightest flashlight you can get. USB C lithium ion rechargeable battery makes all the difference compared to disposable battery powered lights. At 3.4V, the buttons will light up blue once every two seconds – I feel this is quite high, and 3.1 or 3V would be perfectly fine. A flash of the main emitters may have

The 2 side electronic switches require a relatively light press to activate. The slightly recessed switches does help mitigate the possibility of unwanted activation of the light. Turbo is accessed with the light on or off by holding the mode button down and is a momentary function that will return to the previous state once the mode button is released. Ultra-low can be instantly accessed while the light is off by holding down the power button. The Nitecore TINI2 is very beautiful. Nitecore has managed, through excellent construction and a well-designed design, to insert in a small space a well-readable OLED display, 2 light emitters (LEDs), 2 electronic switches and a USB-C charging port. Turbo however – I didn’t expect it to hold for the whole 15 minutes advertised, but I didn’t realise it would only affect the output vs High so little. Effectively, Turbo slides down to effectively High over the course of 7 minutes, but then holds through until after 42 minutes, so you lose 5 minutes of runtime for seven minutes of increased output. Go figure! We found that the runtimes are about 10% to 20% less. Usually you do not have a full charge because you are carrying it around on your keychain.

This also helps with this review, which I can tell you how much real world battery time to expect on a full charge; Best feature? The USB-C charging setup is great. USB-C type connectors are symmetrical, so they go in right side up or upside down. It's much easier to use than a micro USB type connector. Okay, the pragmatic and prudent among you may say it’s a role that smartphones and their built-in flash have largely absorbed. However, the one we’re looking at in this review is a lot more powerful than that. NITECORE TINI 2 | Having a spare flashlight is never a bad idea. The Nitecore TINI2 can be recharged in approximately one hour and 45 minutes. It can work, and therefore be used, while charging or remain always on using a USB device such as a power bank. The operational buttons comprise of a power button and a mode button. The power button turns the TINI 2 on with a short press and then the mode button cycles through ultra-low, low, mid and high with each press. A single press of the power button will turn the light off. The TINI 2 will remember the last used brightness level the next time it is turned on.The new optical system of the TINI2, 32% more powerful than the previous one, uses 2 OSRAM P8 LEDs and total reflection optics for a soft and uniform beam. TINI2 has a maximum output of 500 lumens for a maximum beam depth of 89 meters. Today I’m taking a look at the Nitecore TINI2, one of the newest keychain lights in Nitecore’s stable. While in Demo Mode, the TINI2 automatically turns off after 30 seconds in whatever brightness mode it's in.

Nitecore TINI 2 (Tini2) Keyring Torch 500 Lumens USB C

This is going to sound quite familiar to the T4K review – the general construction of the light is very similar with regards to how it’s put together. This definitely isn’t a bad thing though, as having the internals of lights accessible to those with the know-how to repair things is always appreciated. Nitecore TINI2 has 5 brightness levels available with direct access to TURBO and ULTRALOW, it also has 2 user modes, DEMO Mode and DAILY Mode. Some things in life are just never around when you need them. Scissors, screwdrivers, flashlights, a working McDonald’s ice cream machine—if these ring any bells, we share your pain. Unfortunately, we’re not reviewing a travel-sized ice cream machine anytime soon (but wouldn’t that be a game-changer?). Travel-sized flashlights, though, that’s right up our alley. I’ve run the TINI2 in High and Medium for runtimes, along with Turbo at great expense to my sanity – organising a button to hold in for a runtime with an elastic band and a bare XHP50.2 is not something I want to do again any time soon! The TINI2 is tiny for the output it is capable of delivering (500 lumens of MOMENTARY TURBO mode) and is a great size for keychain EDC, with the included keychain clasp. It is far and away the best and brightest keychain flashlight we have ever used. It will light up an entire room, and is brighter than a number of our inexpensive AA LED flashlights.
