About this deal

You know it’s a good novel when you have to immediately flick back to the beginning to reread some bits to help you process the ending, which is exactly what I had to do! Utterly heart-warming and a joy to lose myself in, I really look forward to reading more from this author. Alternating between the perspectives of Tess and Gus, the novel explores the conflicts and challenges of new love and old loyalties, passion and duty, logic and belief, with readers racing to find out if the couple can or can't be together. It was such a finely balanced novel, with lots of darkness but also the beauty of art, food, music and of course, love! Dear readers, it has been such a long time since I last wrote a book review, so if this review at any time seems a bit wobbly or loose in its structure, I do apologise.

This summer, fall in love with EVER AFTER from the bestselling author of Miss You *** Your favourite authors are loving Ever After: 'Kate Eberlen has gone beyond the initial star crossed romance of Tess and Gus to explore the lasting nature of relationships with her characteristic sensitivity, perception and humour in this inspirational book' Martha Kearney 'A captivating story about love. The time jumps in this book arent a loved feature, especially as they only seemed to cover short period of time.Publisher Sam Eades signed the two-book deal for world English rights with Mark Lucas at The Soho Agency. By completing your purchase, you agree to Audible's Conditions of Use and authorise Audible to charge your designated card or any other card on file. Laura Jane Williams *** Tess and Gus are strangers when their lives collide one sun-drenched morning in Florence, but it feels as if fate has brought them together. Obviously the expectation would be that the story would follow all of Tess and Gus’s missed chances for years, which in itself is gripping, but the fact that the author starts right when they finally meet properly, and instead only briefly references all those twists of fate throughout, is fascinating. I adored the scenery of Florence, adding even more of a colourful splash of magic to the story, and could easily picture myself alongside the characters as they strolled along sun-dappled pavements, considering their futures.

I’m delighted to be joining Orion’s fabulous list of authors and to be working with a team whose publishing I’ve admired and enjoyed for many years. The evocative, entertaining prose carries the reader along and the book is such an easy absorbing read it is rather deceptive because it’s only on reaching the end, and reflecting, that one realises the enormity of the novel and the questions it raises. The suspense of Tess and Gus’ romantic storyline is thoroughly satisfying and will earn Kate Eberlen a whole new audience of readers. Strictly Come Dancing is back on our screens, which means weekends full of sequins, glitterballs and a little cha cha cha. Lucas is also handling translation and screen rights and US rights are being handled by Jessica Purdue at Orion Books. Eberlan, who worked in theatre, publishing and teaching before becoming a mother and writing novels, said: “Like most fairytales, my novel Miss You ended with a beginning. Despite all that goes wrong and the novel’s poignant portrayal of illness, family issues and class differences, there is such a clear love between the characters. Whether your favourite dance is the Viennese waltz, the Argentine tango or a classic jive, we’ve got the book to satisfy your dancing feet.It was unpredictable what was going to happen with the relationship, knowing it may not be the happily ever after for the characters and that’s what had me racing through the pages and not wanting to put this down.
