About this deal

The palate starts off fairly nondescript, but then the buttered pastry shows up, with white pepper, liquorice, milk chocolate and green tea. Simple and straightforward, but quite nice. Water brings out more malt, spice and apple skins. Palate: dry malt sweetness, green fruit, pear, coffee, hints of oak. I'd say nose promises a bit more that I got from a taste.

Bushmills 10 Year Old single malt whiskey is triple distilled from 100% malted barley and matured for at least 10 years in sherry butts and bourbon barrels, giving it extra luscious notes of vanilla honey, ripe red fruits and creamy milk chocolate. I usually go for the 1608 original bush, but felt like going a bit older this time. NOSE: very gentle and fresh; creamy, a bit of citrus (lemon, lime), banana bread, ripe banana skin, apples, slightly floral, a touch of cocoa powder.

I've come to share my love of whiskey with my dad, although I must admit I'm not a connoisseur or pretend to know what makes a particular good one at that. It's why I gave my dad, and my partner, Mark, a try of the Bushmills Irish Whiskey, which comes from the world’s oldest licensed distillery, Bushmills. We may sell, license, transfer, assign or in any other way dispose of the Service (including Members) to any third party without any notification to you, e.g. (but without limitation) in connection with any reorganization, restructuring, merger or sale, or other transfer of assets. For me, I didn't like the whiskey on its own, it was too overpowering and I was disappointed to not be able to define the notes of honey coming through. I did mix mine with Coca-Cola though, which I know is a sin in the whiskey world. However, most importantly, my dad loved this brand so at least now I know what to get him for Father's Day. Bushmills 10 is where Bushmills really starts getting good and that triple distilled Irish single malt gets a chance to shine. From the complex and aromatic nose to the warm fruity palate it’s wonderful whiskey and I can’t recommend it enough. It’s quality drams like this that make me wonder why so many folks have such a bias against Irish Whiskey. Sure some of the blends are crap, but so are some Scottish blends. The single malts and single post sills though, those can be very nice indeed.Records the default button state of the corresponding category & the status of CCPA. NOSE: Initial accents of zesty citrus fruits intertwine with the distinctive Bushmills honey character, precede lingering sweet aromas of fresh vanilla and creamy milk chocolate

Nose: Sweet and fruity, also gives you of eucalyptus at the start. Toffee dominates and hints of floral notes are present as well. Bourbon casks are clearly giving the stronger note. Water adds cinnamon and notes of fruitcake. Bushmills 21 Year Old single malt whiskey is triple distilled from 100% malted barley and matured in Oloroso sherry butts and bourbon barrels before being finished for two years in Madeira casks. This imbues our whiskey with rich notes of ripe fruit, like succulent apricots and juicy raisins, and gives a beautiful, caramelized nuttiness with hints of smooth dark chocolate. TASTE: smooth, moderately sweet, fruity, malty, vanilla, Irish coffee, a very remote note of bitter citrus pith.

Finish: Lingers well, smooth, yet crispy from time to time. Toffee and hints of honey. Oak tannins are strong in the aftertaste and water makes it stronger. He said: "The first taste I thought was quite smooth but after the first couple of sips the taste got a little harsher. I preferred to drink it with ginger ale, measuring the same amount as the whiskey, a single shot. The ginger ale helped take away some of the harshness without compromising on taste. I would buy this again but would always drink with ginger ale."

But Bushmills is much more than just a whiskey. It's a village, where families, friends and neighbours work side by side at the distillery. As we often say, 'without the village there'd be no whiskey, and without the whiskey there'd be no village'. On the palate, the initial hit is quite balanced: neither too sweet, nor too dry. But then, it starts to develop. You get the sweetness of malt and corn, that turns into something like milk chocolate, then strawberry, then classic malt. Finally we get the wood notes of spices and a touch of corn and flowers. Bushmills 12 Year Old single malt whiskey is triple distilled from 100% malted barley and matured in Oloroso sherry butts and bourbon barrels before being finished in marsala barriques from Sicily. Nose (undiluted): honeycrisp apples, cloves, cinnamon, an aroma reminiscent of sewing machine oil (it’s pleasant, I promise)
