Where you put your monitor is almost as important as what model you buy. The monitor should be directly in front of you, at an arm’s length away (between 20-40 inches from your eyes), with the top edge of the screen at eye level when you’re sitting comfortably. You may need to adjust your chair height or the height of the monitor to achieve this. Additional monitor information like the model number, firmware version and Service Tag can be accessed from the monitor's OSD (On Screen Display).
Dell doesn't give a figure for the U3419W's degree of curvature, but it provides an immersive, ultra-wide viewing experience, coupled with the wide viewing angles (178 degrees, both vertical and horizontal) typical of IPS displays.Change the input color format to PC RGB or YPbPr in the Color Settings On-Screen Display Menu (OSD). Dim/discolored video can be caused by the video cable, so try reseating the cable and swapping with a known good part. Dell’s factory tuning of the Dell U3419W is once again top-notch, giving us an IPS panel that can cover 98% of the sRGB gamut. Average accuracy is superb as well at Delta E 1.69, meaning there are no visible variances in almost every shade available to the display. The panel’s FRC-augmented 10-bit depth helped a lot in this regarding, making the monitor ideal of photo editing and the like.

And you may think you can buy two decent curved screens with the same (or more) resolution than a single U3419W. But while that’s true, if you want a single screen and no annoying bezels interrupting your desktop, then an ultrawide is the answer. There’s no noticeable ghosting, and for most games outside of first-person-shooters, the response time and refresh rate will be perfectly adequate. And games which support the ultrawide aspect ratio – including Forza Horizon 4 – look epic. Verdict There is also a pair of 9-Watt speakers which definitely sound more powerful and defined that the built-ins we’re used to. This part sounds decent enough even for movies, but you’d still want a separate set or headphones for gaming or audio processing usage. Display and Performancex 1440 is just gorgeous to look since it gives you a panoramic view that’s less confined. Detail and sharpness aren’t sacrificed here and there is no immediately apparent image softening in games and test pictures. Reading a wall of text is still comfortable in this form factor since the screen looks close or comparable to a 27-inch QHD variant. A few permanently bright or dark pixels are considered normal by industry standards. The exact number of pixels allowed varies depending on the monitor.
