What do you mean North spire? Perhaps seeing the marker on the map might help: Shroudbreaker Journal #2 on Ancient Spire. The Location for Shroudbreaker Journal #3: The ending of Mercia’s first journal tells you where to go next: Ancient Spire Outpost. Ah, but where is the journal within those winding spires?

The easiest way to find this journal is likely to go to the top of the North spire. Staying on that North spire, make your spiraling way downward into the caves. You only need to go down one level. Long ago, at the height of the Golden Age of Piracy, the infamous pirate Ramsey and his shipmates sacrificed everything to embark on an impossible journey into the Sea of Thieves. From there, the core story structure was born: two ships separated not by history, but by different views on what it means to be a pirate on the Sea of Thieves, finding themselves on opposing sides as a result. For the crew that would stand against Flameheart, I was drawn to Eli Slate and the crew of the Morningstar – firstly because we’d glimpsed them briefly during the Tall Tales, but secondly because Slate is a very different kind of captain to Ramsey, and I thought he’d make a good foil for Flameheart. Briggsy does not use her real name; hers is a title given by her profound ability to break into, or out of, anything or anywhere. This article is a stub. You can help Sea of Thieves Wiki by expanding it. Tales from the Sea of Thieves

It is implied that the Magpie's Wing marked the basis for the standard Galleons used in the Sea of Thieves in the present day. The second crew are new characters in the lore, drawn together by circumstance, but also by a shared belief that the arrival of trade and commerce is eroding the freedom of the pirate life, just as it did elsewhere in the wider world. This crew’s vocal opinions have left them pretty much outcasts, and they make the decision to join with Flameheart and restore what they see as true freedom to the Sea of Thieves. As someone who tends to avoid conflict in the game, this was a great opportunity to get into the head of a very different, but no less important, kind of player. Comics are really good, they're from DeMarco and Lesedi's perspectives, and shows how and why they rival eachother so much, trying to make their father proud by being the first to find the treasure that he hid for his 2 children. The Art of Sea of Thieves book clearly would be canonical if it discusses any information pertinent to the game’s lore at all, since it comes directly from Rare themselves, but does any such information exist in the book, or is it all only real-world behind-the-scenes and developmental information? Yes, Devil’s Ridge is an awfully large island. Perhaps this will help you pinpoint the location: Shroudbreaker Journal #3 on Devil’s Ridge. The Location for Shroudbreaker Journal #4: To get a more precise location—often helpful if you’ve found yourself in fog—you can take a look at the marker on your interactive SoT map: Shroudbreaker Journal #1 on the Uncharted Island. The Location for Shroudbreaker Journal #2:

The name of Graymarrow and Briggsy's ships were The Twisted Horn and The Homeward Dove respectively. The Athena's Fortune was named after Ramsey's wife who he left behind to pursue a life on the seas. In desperation, the legendary Pirate Lord hires the crew of the Morningstar to stop Flameheart’s reign of terror. Meanwhile, a crew of misfits swears allegiance to Flameheart who offers them an intriguing opportunity to upheave the status quo. The Kraken that we fight is the same one mentioned in the novel; Briggsy comments during Ramsey's recovery that it had been seen using ink to hide its body and would only fight with its tentacles.Ramsey's story is the highlight -- while avoiding spoilers, I'll just note that he becomes important and his story ties in to the comic book series as well. The only good additional lore between the comics and Athena's Fortune is the look at how people journey to the Sea of Thieves and what those first few moments once they arrive are like. We get more of that here, as Ramsey actually starts in the world outside the Sea of Thieves, makes his journey over, and witnesses the birth of the Pirate Lord, Gold Hoarder, and the Sea of Thieves as we know it today. Game mechanics are explained in-universe, and my understanding of the world is a bit richer for having read it. However, I'd wager the story is so insubstantial and poorly told in Sea of Thieves that most players don't know or care who the Pirate Lord and Gold Hoarder are in the game. So your enjoyment will depend on if you've somehow convinced yourself to care about the story. The Captain's Logbook records a number of statistics for the ship and Captain's entire history, as well as the ship's current play session. This is a rather convenient location. The second tall tale begins with Madame Olivia on Plunder Outpost. Thus, finding your final Shroudbreaker journal here will see you well-poised to begin your next adventure: The Cursed Rogue.
