About this deal
I don't know where the problem sits - maybe it's inbuilt obsolescence - but none of mine have lasted much beyond two or three seasons.
This may require opening up the machine, so if you're not comfortable doing this, it's best to contact a professional repair service. The petals were dry and my previous vac would have picked them up without a problem, but the nozzle of this vac needs to be held so close to the ground it makes it hard work picking anything up. With a collection capacity of 45 litres and a shredding ratio of 16:1, leaves are no task for this blower vac. Permanent leaf shredding when collecting privit hedge cuttings would I thought lead to frequent blocking . With a collection capacity of 40L and a shredding ratio of 3:1, leaves are no task for this garden blow vac.In desperation I tried to find a replacement using the venture air mover principal – but could not find one. It also shreds the leaves, but this is of dubious benefit because it just means that the device is even heavier when full, and if you drop any it makes an even worse mess. Based on my experience with my previous bag, if you don't do this properly air is expelled when you are vacuuming so is having the opposite effect to what you want.
The machine is also quite big and bulky in storage but the strap can be used to hang it up, which is helpful. Also, the ‘jet vacuum function’ for blasting wet leaves and loosening them before sucking them up does sometimes just blast them away before you can vacuum them into the bag. The replacement ( still flimsy) bags are ridiculously expensive so……hang on, I think I know the answer to my question. One other point though, I cannot believe how few shredder lines are supplied with the product or the exorbitant cost of the spares. This was bought as a replacement for a 750w Flymo Garden Vac Plus which had finally given up the ghost after what must be 40 years or so service.
This garden vac's great strength is that the debris one collects does not go through any form of suction impeller. Inspect the motor and internal components: If the motor brushes are in good condition, you may need to inspect the motor and other internal components for damage or wear. Please help - I am wondering why a well known garden vac manufacturer provides such flimsy collection bags that develop holes after very few uses, very very few. Update (Nov 2022) - still going but Bag Frame has needed replacement and the bag itself is a poor fit on the frame and regularly became unhooked. A powerful corded electric blower vac that swaps easily between functions and has a large collection bag.
