About this deal

This campaign begins with standard 20-foot containers, adds all-new half-sized 10-foot containers, and then is followed by “hab” containers: tiny homes and small shops for your present-day, near-future, or far-future battlefield. Finally, we bring you open-sided containers, perfect for protecting those valuable assets like your prized white tigers or that old smoky diesel generator. Moreover, you can turn them into bridges to cross a ravine or a skywalk for your hab units! We’re also introducing two new connectors that allow you to link your containers end-to-end, making your container setup even more varied and versatile. As if that wasn’t enough, there's even more!

Our unpainted pewter fantasy miniatures are in the newer heroic 28mm gaming scale which has become the industry standard over the past 22 years. Our first four fantasy miniature lines are based on the iconic fantasy artwork of Larry Elmore , Keith Parkinson (RIP), Clyde Caldwell & Jeff Easley. All four artists have been gaming industry icons for the past 42 years now and their artwork needs no introduction. In this competitive adventure board game, 2-5 players travel across a vast map, embarking on masterfully penned quests, encountering and making ambiguous moral choices, fighting monsters — and sometimes brawling with other witchers to defend their school's honor! Monster Fight Club has now put together their first crop of miniatures for you to use with your Witcher-based tabletop adventures. You could use these for the R.Talsorian roleplaying game or perhaps even a skirmish game or two if you want to give it a Witcher vibe! By all accounts, these miniatures are exceptionally good quality. I've seen a few images of the actual plastic miniatures and the details seem to be very crisp indeed.

The last of the sets turns things into a little bit of a boss encounter. You have two Ghouls and then the Grave Hag that you could use as the focal point of a scenario. The many cardboard tokens, whilst nothing special, are perfectly fine for regular use. The unique poker dice are well-crafted, adding to the immersive experience. The artwork on the cards and components is faithful to the theme, making it a treat for fans of The Witcher universe. The difference between the Standard and Deluxe versions of The Witcher: Old World is the inclusion of 28 miniatures to replace the tokens in the standard edition. Both editions include miniatures for each Witcher school. The Witcher: Old World plays on a map with locations that fans of the franchise will find very familiar. What Are Our Final Thoughts On The Witcher Old World?

There are some great narrative elements in the quests, and while I would have liked to have seen this expanded more, it would have added to the run time and would be best experienced in solo play. There's a lot of replayability with the different schools, and even though most games play out roughly the same way, it's very enjoyable, but certainly not infinite unless you're a hardcore Witcher fan. Should I Buy The Witcher Old World? We’re very excited to explore the Cyberpunk and the Witcher worlds with Mike and R. Talsorian Games,” said John Kovaleski, CEO of Monster Fight Club. “We’re excited to be offering a range of high-quality miniatures for two of the most beloved sci-fi and fantasy franchises.” Expect the First Look of these exciting new miniatures this year at Gen Con 2019, the Best Four days in Gaming ™.The first set contains three Drowners whilst the second introduces three Ghouls into the mix. I would love to use Rangers Of Shadow Deep for playing out some Witcher adventures with Geralt at the head. You could introduce these creatures in place of zombies and the like!

This is a review of the deluxe retail version of the core game – The Witcher: Old World. Designed by Łukasz Woźniak, graphic design by Dawid Bartłomiejczyk and Michał Długaj, miniature design by Tomasz Kalisz and Robert Kurek and published by Go on Board. It is based on the popular “The Witcher” book series by Andrzej Sapkowski and the subsequent video game adaptations. The game is designed for 1 to 5 players and is recommended for ages 14 and above. In The Witcher: Old World, players take on the roles of Witchers, embarking on dangerous quests, battling monsters, and navigating the morally ambiguous world of the Continent. It takes place hundreds of years before the events from the saga (and a certain Geralt of Rivia rose to fame). Components In this competitive adventure board game, 2-5 players travel across a vast map, embarking on masterfully penned quests, encountering and making ambiguous moral choices, fighting monsters – and sometimes brawling with other witchers to defend their school's honor!

The artwork and graphic design deserve praise for capturing the dark and gritty atmosphere of The Witcher. The illustrations on the cards and the game board are evocative, making players feel like they are part of the Continent’s treacherous world. I really liked the [often] gory illustrations on the action cards, they add extra depth to a great combo! Final Verdict

The deluxe includes monster miniatures for all the types featured and whilst not exactly needed they do add to the immersive experience and will certainly enhance table presence even unpainted. It is worth pointing out that the miniatures in this game are excellent. Both in terms of the sculpts and their detail. I especially liked the sculpted bases and dynamic poses of the various Witchers. Gameplay Set years before the saga of Geralt of Rivia, The Witcher: Old World explores a time when monsters roamed the Continent in greater numbers, creating a constant peril that required the attention of expertly trained monster slayers, known as witchers. Five competing schools trained their adepts through brutal regimes, and once fully prepared, these now-recognized witchers set off to explore the land, seeking trouble and adventures and helping others for coin. Leading the way is the first character set that contains three particularly iconic characters. You have Geralt Of Rivia, Yennefer and Dandelion. All of these miniatures that you're going to be seeing here are in plastic and come in around that 28/32mm scale. So, they should line up well with lots of other ranges. Monster Fight Club have done a solid job on their Cyberpunk range and I imagine we'll see the same concerning The Witcher.

The Witcher: Old World can be played solo, and it works well, but the sense of urgency isn't there, the same can be said of 2 player games, and I found that 3 or 4 players games had the ideal mix of competitive pace and game time. I had a blast with 5 players, but it did feel like a large time investment, so wouldn't be the regular way to play the game. There are 5 Witcher Schools to choose from in The Witcher: Old World. Because The Witcher: Old World is set a few hundred years before the stories and tales involving Geralt, he's not a playable character in the game, but there is a Witcher from the School of the Wolf, along with the Bear, Cat, Griffin, and Viper, each with their own special ability. The Witcher: Old World standard edition comes with tokens for the monsters, whereas the Deluxe edition upgrades them to miniatures.
