About this deal

Amazing keyboard! Just got mine last week and it types like a dream. I wanted to try the Cherry MX Silent Reds and they are indeed VERY quiet. They sound more like dampened membrane keyboards. I've always wanted to try a keyboard that wasn't a 100% so I figured I might as well jump all the way down to a 60%. I don't miss the extra keys at all. I crunch numbers just fine with the number row, and the FN might take a while to get used to, but it's been fine so far. The only real bummer I have for this board is that IT DOES NOT COME WITH ANY LLAMA KEYCAP AT ALL. so that was a huge bummer batch one and two came with a llama escape key this one came with a CLOUD and the spacebar is also clouds both are nice and all but I mean, it's a FROZEN LLAMA KEYBOARD and I didn't get a a llama. big sad.

All in all, this provides AMAZING value. Very high quality all around, super customizable and a dream to type on. RGB is very bright and the keycaps feel great but i switched them out for puddings/rubbers cause RGB is my thing. The 60% layout was considered a niche outside layout until this keyboard hit the market. So, what about this keyboard is special? PBT Doubleshot Keycaps

The RGB lighting, then, looks really, really good. Some keys (mainly the keys with symbols on them) have the tiniest dark spot on them, but I’d rather have great quality keycaps with some very minor dark spots than flawless looking low quality caps. The Mecha's ground-breaking cast aluminum frame offers stunning aesthetics with curves and features that bulky CNC machined Aluminum frames can only dream of. The result is substantial weight, but in a carefully balanced way – not just heavy for the sake of being heavy. You have to feel it to believe it. The RGB, lighting modes and the controls are just amazing. Absolutely breathtaking. I can't stop staring at it. Aside from all the cool cosmetics and usual documentation you will also find a keycap puller. I always appreciate that since that is something that everyone will need down the line when it’s time to clean their keyboard. Build Quality and Features But this obviously isn’t made for those people: it’s for those who want a premium keyboard that’s as compact as possible, and it does a great job at that. The bezels have gotten even thinner with this new case, making it one of the most compact keyboards you can get without going into custom built territories.

The Mecha Mini is, as the name perhaps gives away, a very small keyboard. Its 60% size means that it’s even smaller than a tenkeyless board; you won’t even find any arrow keys on this one. That’s great for gaming (unless you’re one of those people who uses the arrow keys to play) as the compact design frees up a lot of desk real estate for you to move your mouse around, but that does make it a bit more difficult to use for productivity. You can still get to the arrow keys (and the function keys and what not) by using a combination of inputs but it’s quite obvious that this form factor isn’t going to be a hit if you desire lots of extra knobs and dials. It looks amazing, feels very sturdy and gives the feeling this will last a long time (even tho I had a loose screw?), if it had tighter keys/less wobble it would be absolutely perfect. 8.5/10. Would recommend! The product itself is amazing. I have always loved the Cherry MX Silent Reds so getting them again was a no brainer. They are the only keys that don't wake up my wife and a sleeping baby. The keyboard itself is incredibly solid. I can't stop unplugging it and just holding it in my hands and staring at it. It's beautiful. I love how heavy it is. It's a huge difference from the light and floppy plastic Corsair Strafe v1 I'm switching from. The RGB is more complex to setup since it's all on-board RGB control, but not very difficult once you practice a little bit. I caved in and took the swap offer because I wasn't sure if I ever was gonna get my hands on another Mecha Mini (I already have one but it has Silent Reds on it which I regret and it's v1).

The new, fully aluminium bezel design shares a similar sleek frame as its predecessor. The PBT double-shot seamless keycaps, with German Cherry MX key switches, give durable, exceptional, and reliable performance. We use USB HID with the highest frequency of 1000Hz polling rate, meaning the keyboard is sending its input signal(s) to your PC 1000 times per second. The keyboard itself is also very powerful; you can create macros, build lighting profiles, change the debounce time settings, and even play minesweeper all on the board itself without the need for software. That’s impressive, but there is definitely a bit of a learning curve involved. Just changing between different preset lighting profiles is almost literally easy as one two three, but if you want to build a custom profile or create some macros you’re going to want to keep your manual really close to your desk. With full NKRO (which stands for N-key rollover) you can press as many switches at the same time as you physically can without the keyboard missing a beat, and the perfectly implemented switches and keys make swerving through the sky in Fortnite or bunnyhopping around in CS:GO an absolute dream thanks to the responsive and consistent feeling of the board.

Pro Lists

I'm sorry to give this such a low rating I wanted to love it but for what I received I truly feel it's only worthy of 3 stars at this price At this point I own 6 different boards with experience in modding them and rebuilds. But you can make your own decisions.

Advanced I was honestly disappointed by this product. The build quality is great, the case is incredible but there are many more issues than positives in my case.

Games

I've owned this now for quite a few months, and have noticed so many bugs with firmware and daily use it's crazy you could be playing a game then all of a sudden your W key or E key will open windows or 3 other programs randomly? Like what!? Sometime hitting the tab key will close all programs for no reason, and many other weird things just happen randomly with different keystrokes(this also happened before I modded it, so it wasn't due to be resoldering the board) I personally think that not having software is a massive disadvantage, and I have really grown to hate this keyboard because of it. Gets extremely dirty under the caps, needs constant cleaning with duster to get out dust and small dirt The key caps are nice, but I already replaced it with a pudding set since I am a RGB nut and it just looks stunning. The Mecha Mini does pretty much everything right; it’s got a compact design, supreme typing and gaming experience, gorgeous lighting, great keycaps, extremely solid build quality, andit comes with a bunch of nice extras in the box. As such it is, without a shadow of doubt, one of the best (gaming) keyboards that you can buy right now.
