About this deal

a) The intent of The Oxbridge Formula’s services is to educate students and allow students to explore mathematical ideas in unfamiliar contexts.

v) The amount of time between a monthly billing interval is one month. This means 30 days for some months (April, June etc.), 31 days for others, and then 28 or 29 days for February. That’s why we’ve selected our expert tutors to give you everything you need to make sure you blow your competition out of the water! (So to speak.) As someone who has graduated in an arts degree, I found the book very math heavy. There is a lot space dedicated to solving math questions and I wonder if those would have been more beneficial outside the book. I would wager that maths is the authors passion and that shows in the book. But once again, the volume of maths doesn’t detract from the mission of the book, it just makes it a bit cumbersome at times. But I say this as a person who has specialised in the humanities. It doesn’t stop there…The Oxbridge Formula talks about the interview processes at different colleges, a variety of interview scripts, the successful personal statements and outlines of the sort of people that apply to the programme showing which ones are successful and which aren’t and most importantly why they didn’t succeed.

Complete the form below to book. Strictly limited time slots are available, so book early to avoid disappointment. An underlying theme throughout the book is how ability, passion and potential is being sought in a successful candidate and how to display these three qualities throughout the application process be it the exams, the interviews or any experience that a candidate embarks on.

The tuition you’ll receive will be bespoke – i.e. you’ll receive the exact help YOU need, when you need it. This could be in the form of marking, going through marked solutions, general problem solving, or developing the right mindset. is merely advisory. The Oxbridge Formula does not make any guarantees as to its accuracy or usefulness and is not responsible for the consequences of its use. If it is written or presented by an individual, it is their opinion only. You use it entirely at your own risk. While our video solutions and in-person courses will give you all of the mathematical tools and insight you need, how do you know if you’re applying them correctly when working independently? The Oxbridge Formula cannot be held responsible for any loss, damage or expense resulting from any delay, variation or failure in the provision of services or facilities relating to any programme or course arising from circumstances beyond The Oxbridge Formula’s reasonable control, including (but not limited to) earthquake, flood, storm, act of God or of public enemies, national emergency, invasion, insurrection, riots, industrial disputes, boycott, interruption of services rendered by any public utility, or interference from any local, national or supra-national government agency or official. The above limitations will not apply insofar as any liability may not be excluded under the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977. Reading Marcus du Sautoy’s “The Music of the Primes” and Simon Singh’s “Fermat’s Last Theorem” has shown how individuals have dedicated their lives to solving seemingly simple problems. The main attraction of these books and mathematics more widely, is problem solving, which is also what draws me to engineering. Solving a wide variety of problems is something I really enjoy; in the most recent UKMT Senior Maths Challenge, I was awarded a gold certificate, also the best score in my year at school.

b) Students are expected to make their own travel arrangements to and from the venue and/or attend on Zoom It looks and feels like a textbook, but it is peppered with excerpts from current students, tutors at the university and heads of colleges on what they have seen and would like to see in their interviews. This gives valuable insight, making the book more personable and adds a lot of warmth to the ruthless process of selection. With admissions now so competitive, you can’t afford to fall behind on any part. But we’ve found through experience that they key to every part of the application is having an expert to talk to – not least because learning from someone who truly understands your subject will massively advance your own subject understanding, which will then shine through in your performance in tests and at interview. or presented in speech or writing at a The Oxbridge Formula course or through another of The Oxbridge Formula’s services It covers the degrees mainly offered by the STEM subjects with a very big emphasis on the Maths and a bonus chapter on philosophy. Each section highlights; The different variations of the degree (did you know Philosophy and Maths was an option?), how the subject is offered in Oxford vs Cambridge, what exams are needed, the expected work load in the first year (the thought is a workout in itself…) and interestingly recommended reads to deepen an understanding of a subject.

A successful Oxbridge application can have so many parts – personal statement, admissions test, interview, A-level performance… you’ll want to make sure you get the most out of the precious time you have. It’s important to give concrete examples of your passion for maths, whether this be through competitions you’ve entered, extra problems you’ve solved, books you’ve read, or lectures you’ve attended. Just show that you’re passionate! Example Personal Statement Are your solutions presented logically? Have you got any gaps in your solutions which could lose you vitally important marks? Have you misused symbols or forgotten some key information on your diagram? ii) You are not permitted to copy, make available or divulge to any unauthorised party, in any way, any of the materials, notes or teachings of our lectures, whether for financial gain or not. Having agreed to these terms and conditions, if you should allow any of these materials to be made available to any unauthorized party, then you will be liable to consequential legal action.Oxford, Cambridge, and UCL all use the TSA (Thinking Skills Assessment) as a Pre-Interview 120 minute exam. (Section 1 – Problem Solving and Critical Thinking – 90 minutes; Section 2 – Essay – 30 minutes) c) The Oxbridge Formula also does not guarantee any specific positive outcome from using our content or services. b) On the rare occasion that is becomes necessary, The Oxbridge Formula reserves the right to alter the course date, venue and presenters indicated at the time of booking. In such circumstances, we would endeavour to provide a substitute of equal standing. You will be given a complete debrief from the tutor after each interview, so you can practise acting on their advice in the next.
