[ citation needed] The Highland Boundary Fault is a colossal deficiency zone that crosses Scotland from Arran and Helensburgh and isolates two unmistakable territories: The Highlands from the Lowlands. The separation point runs in a south-west heading through Loch Lomond’s islands including Torrinch, Cinch and Inchmurrin. The view from the highest point of Conic Hill gives the most breathtaking perspectives on the separation point. This hike provides stunning panoramic views over Loch Lomond and its many tiny islands, Ben Lomond and the Arrochar Alps. Fraser, Amy Stewart (1977). In Memory Long. Routledge. p.54. [1] Traditionally forming part of the boundary between the counties of Stirlingshire and Dunbartonshire, Loch Lomond is split between the council areas of Stirling, Argyll and Bute and West Dunbartonshire. Its southern shores are about 23 kilometres (14mi) northwest of the centre of Glasgow, Scotland's largest city. [2] The Loch forms part of the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park which was established in 2002. Armit, Ian (2003). "The Drowners: permanence and transience in the Hebridean Neolithic". The Great Trossachs Path Walk – Day One: If you’re looking for an epic, challenging hike in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, look no further than the Great Trossachs Path. This strenuous hike is split over two days, beginning at Inversnaid and continuing all the way to Trossachs Pier at the head of Loch Katrine. This is a wonderful way to experience the spectacular views around Loch Lomond, and is a must for walkers looking for an extra challenge. One of the attractions of Luss is the row of quaint cottages lined perfectly with beautiful small gardens and floral displays. They look gorgeous in full bloom during the summer months. The church is open daily. You will find an effigy of Saint Kessog inside the church. Also, admire the beautiful stained glass windows and the timbered roof. Not a lot of peat, but on the 2nd glass it does show itself. Reminds me of the peat in Ledaig 10. A definite saltiness.
