About this deal

That's really a rough guide though – at the end of the day, what you find comfortable is really mostly down to personal preference. Other design features include blue piping on one side only – this side features Simba’s cooling Stratos Technology that helps regulate your temperature as you sleep. Because of its height and firmness, the Simba Hybrid Firm Pillow is better suited to back and side sleepers. The versatility makes it ideal for all heights and body weights, while the breathable materials, including cover with temperature-regulating Stratos technology, is comfortable for anyone who sleeps hot. Simba offers the following guidelines for different levels of comfort: for a firm feel, remove no cubes; for medium, remove four to six handfuls, and for low, remove eight to 10 handfuls.

If you're similar, you might be better suited to the standard Hybrid (I suppose you could take out the firm insert and just have the two soft pillows in there, but that feels like a bit of a waste of money). If – like me – you had always assumed that the plushest pillows had a natural down filling, the Simba Hybrid will prove you wrong. In addition, the top-level foam is excellent, so the pillow retains its shape, comfort and overall quality over long periods. You can feel the difference – the result is a sumptuously soft pillow that doesn’t leave me with a sore neck or require too much plumping.

Taking a travel pillow could mean the difference between having two days of groggy jet lag and feeling spritely on arrival. If you're a side-sleeper, back sleeper or hot sleeper, this is a great choice for you – but it doesn’t come cheap.

Removing a layer entirely – as you might want to do if you sleep on your front or if you have a very soft mattress – does make the case feel just slightly baggy, but nowhere near as much as we expected. The Visco-elastic open-cell foam has several tiny air-filled cells that help contour your head as you sleep, allowing you to find the optimal sleeping position. Wrap it, loop it, twist it – you can almost do anything with the infinity travel pillow and use it in any resting position for the ultimate comfort. This gives it a lovely cool, smooth feel and the filling doesn’t make a sound when you move around on top of the cushion.Memory foam is, unfortunately, not very eco-friendly – so it’s good to see Simba innovating in this area where they can. There's a good level of support that made my head and neck feel at ease and the squishy outer layer is an instant sleep-inducer. Both promise comfortable support, customisation – to help you get just the right sleeping height – and temperature regulation. Think of it as a memory foam sandwich: its three layers of squishy foam come apart, so you can customise the height depending on how much lift you need (which will vary depending on your height and sleep position) and how soft your mattress is. The whole thing is polyester and machine washable, so you can enjoy the feel of a fresh pillow for every trip.
